This past Wednesday, I got the opportunity to attend the early screening of ‘Muppets MostWanted’ and as the title suggests, I smiled… a lot. It was two hours of fun and catchy tunes that had me roaring with laughter. Oh and I can’t forget to mention the number of celebrity cameos… I won’t share who makes appearances, because I don’t want to ruin the surprise, but know that you will be shocked by a few!
I don’t know about you, but I am not a morning person at all. Unfortunately my children seemed to have inherited this trait so mornings tend to be a bit of a drag in our household. I am a light sleeper so the moment that alarm goes off I am awake, but I must admit the snooze button is my friend. :-) Fortunately my little guy gets up fairly easily and when I can not get his big sister moving he is only too happy to oblige with a very loud, “GET UP EMILY!” that the whole neighborhood can hear.
Rashmi’s Bakery is one of those finds that you hope you will never, ever have to give up. This might be a strange way to think of a bakery when there are hundreds of them around, but Rashmi’s Bakery is not like every other bakery out there. I discovered Rashmi’s last year when I was searching for a local place to obtain baked goods from for my food allergic son William. As many people will tell you I am not a great asset in the kitchen so whipping up treats at the last minute doesn’t happen. With the list of birthday parties that William was being invited to growing by the day I wanted to find a place to shop that had ready made cupcakes that were safe for him to eat. Rashmi’s Bakery to the rescue!
I recently received my first VoxBox from Influenster and I am kind of excited about it! Influenster sends out products for regular folk to try out and share their results via social media. This sweet little package arrived and inside I found a sample bottle of shampoo, conditioner and split-end serum. The first thing I noticed was the smell. Oh my, it was heavenly. The kind of smell that makes you prolong your shower so you can keep on breathing deep. :-) The idea behind the VoxBox this time was to try out the samples and then try to guess which L’Oreal Canada product this really was. We will find out soon exactly what the #MysteryBrand is when we receive full size bottles of the product!!
I am a reader, a lover of the printed word, a keeper (some might say hoarder) of books, both old editions and new. This applies to novels, children’s books, guides, manuals and yes, even textbooks. I still have all of mine from college and probably even high school. Growing up the bookcase in my room was sagging under the weight of all that entertainment and knowledge and yes sadly, the money spent on this love. We are talking thousands here people, thousands and thousands. So when I heard about CampusBookRentals I knew instantly that this was a fantastic idea.
Have you ever given much thought to what kind of toilet paper you use? I mean serious thought, not just “I like the pink versus the blue package.” I can tell you honestly that TP is not something that use to occupy much of my day, but (no pun intended) it does now! Recently I was contacted by Mom Central Canada and MAJESTA to take the Shake Test and put the new #MajestaEZ flush to work!
When I first received a copy of the 50th Anniversary Edition of Disney’s “Mary Poppins” I was giddy with excitement. I just love this movie and even more so, I love sharing it with my daughter. Emily has seen the “regular” version before, but just knowing this classic was celebrating fifty years made it more of an event to view. I think I was humming MP classics like “A Spoon Full of Sugar” and “Feed the Birds” for days afterwards..sigh.. With all of the movies available today there is just something wholesome and good about watching “Mary Poppins” with your kiddos.
A few years ago I had a run of the mill, old fashioned cell phone and that was only under duress. I did not want or need the added stress of learning some new fangled contraption and keeping it safe. Fast forward a couple of years and you will find I am fond of saying, “you can cut off my arm, my left one because I am right handed, but DO NOT take away my iPhone.“ Yup, what a difference a day makes… I treat my smart phone like she was my third child. Keep her close by me at all times ( yes, even in the washroom ) and try to protect her from harm. But that is not always easy..
