Reading is one of the few pleasures in life that does not require us to go anywhere, spend a lot of money or commit a bunch of time. Reading, for fun, can be entertaining, spark your creativity and take you to places you never dreamed you would go. I have been an avid reader for as long as I can remember and it makes me so happy that both of my kiddos are following the same path. Reading just for the heck of it gives children the opportunity to stretch their imaginations, conjure up new goals for themselves and yearn to learn more about the world and what it has to offer.
Of the many gifts my kiddos have been been given over the years, the ones that seem to vie for the top spot of favourite are the personalized ones. This past Christmas my then six year old son received two books that not only contained his name, but his photo as well. He was thrilled! Despite expensive Lego and other fun gifts addressed to him, the most cherished were his personalized books. ♥
Recently we had the chance to check out a new personalized book from Lost My Name, the company that brought us the iconic ‘The Boy Who Lost His Name’ book (read about ours here.) Known as the world’s most technologically advanced children’s book company, they have done it again with the release of ‘The Incredible Intergalactic Journey Home.’ This cool story is different for every child as certain aspects of the plot and even illustrations, are based on where they live! From the country flag on the spaceship to the view of Earth from outer space to the final pages where the child flies over landmarks near their house and eventually their actual home, each book is personalized! Your child will feel so special when they see they are the star of their very own story.
