Canada Day recipes

Summer weather is here and on July 1st we will be celebrating Canada Day – our country’s 151st birthday. We usually spend the day with my parents at their retirement village. There is a parade that the kiddos often participate in, live entertainment, games and a barbecue! We always have hamburgers and hot dogs, salads, fresh fruit and popcorn. But the best part is the yummy red and white cake that is served for dessert. 🙂 What will you be serving at your celebration?

Need some inspiration for your dessert menu? Here are 12 fabulous ideas for your Canada Day party.

1. Brownie Strawberry Shortcake from Suburban Simplicity

 Brownie Strawberry Shortcake

These all look so so good. My mama makes the strawberry trifle and it is delicious to me. I could make myself sick eaten too much of it at one sitting if I let myself. So far I’ve never done that. Thanks for sharing these.
