Hair Wraps at Disney

February 22, 2012 By: MapleMouseMama2 Comments

Tonight I undertook the painstaking task of removing the hair wrap my daughter had.  I say painstaking because whenever I go near Emily’s hair you would think I was torturing her to reveal her innermost secrets.  The hair wrap is not very complicated, but the longer the hair the longer it takes to remove.  And a pair of scissors is a must to have handy, which nearly caused Emily to pass out 🙂  As I said to her I am the last one who wants to cut her hair in such a manner as to draw negative attention to her head.  That is her job.  This refers to Emily’s experiment from a few years ago.  She was growing out her hair and her bangs were finally long enough to wear off of her face.  Four days before school started in the fall Emily decided to cut a small section of her bangs to see how fast they would grow.  The section she cut was the very center of her forehead, smack in the middle.  Suffice it to say this was not something I could easily cover up 🙁  That was a dark moment I tell ya..

Anyway, the hair wrap.  It took us about twenty minutes to get out and a bit of hair was lost, but all in all it went well.  The reason I brought this up was to highlight a really neat and relatively inexpensive thing to do while visiting Disney World.  Emily asked to have a hair wrap on her very first trip to our happy place, but her hair was short.  The next visit she went to the Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique so her hair was taken care of there.  Next trip her hair was in the cutest pixie cut so, again, no hair wrap.  This past December I promised her that she could get the wrap and in fact, we got matching “mommy and me” wraps 🙂 It was fun and I am glad we did it.  Cost wise it was reasonable.  Two dollars per inch so Emily’s cost twenty bucks and mine was ten.  But we did it together and made some cool memories.  So if you have hesitated in the past,  I suggest you give the hair wrap a try next time you visit my friend Mickey, then share a photo with me!

I think it’s great that you do the hair wraps together. It’s a great way to spend time together.
