I happened upon this great video today of Tom Staggs, Chairmen of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, talking about the new MagicBand at the D11 Conference. The D11 Conference ( stands for All Things Digital) is hosted by The Wall Street Journal’s Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher. The best part of this video is a cameo by none other then Ms Edna Mole herself. She is a panic!! Tom Staggs hold his own against the two Wall Street journalists, but I have to say I do not care for their downer attitude about Disney. While some of it is meant to be lighthearted, they can go a bit overboard.
For those of you who do not have a clue about what a MagicBand is, it is the newest “Key to the World” ticket from Disney. It is a band, worn like a watch on your wrist, that houses an RFID (radio frequency identification) chip. This chip is then programmed with your Disney vacation information, like your park passes, your resort room key, your dining plan, your spending money and even your FastPasses for park rides. You can literally schedule most of your trip and have it all contained on this cute little bracelet! There are even accessories to be had. 🙂
Have a look at this clip, it is a few minutes long so maybe get a drink, and prepare to educated on Disney’s MagicBand! When I next visit the parks, I think I would choose the pink one. What colour MagicBand would you choose?

Thanks for the explanation about the Magic Band, Suzanne! My first thought was “How convenient for we seniors who tend to be a tad forgetful these days! No reason to fear that we would miss anything at DISNEY now!” LOL
