Easter is a wonderful time of the year when Christians around the world celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and that is not an event to be diminished, however, there are many folks that enjoy the Easter season for other reasons. Think candy, chocolate bunnies (or real ones), egg decorating and more. One of the reasons I look forward to Easter each year is because it seems to be the unofficial start to spring and what is not to love about that. Aside from traditional church services, there are many ways families can get out and enjoy the Easter weekend in Southern Ontario and here are just some of them.
Easter at The Toronto Zoo
Every year the Toronto Zoo treats not only it’s two-legged friends to fun at Easter, but it’s four-legged friends as well. During the course of the Easter weekend the zoo has a whole host of activities going on including serving up special Easter-themed enrichment treats to some of the animals. You can watch as the animals take on special challenges to find these treats and keep themselves busy. Don’t worry though, there is plenty for you and your kiddos to enjoy at the Toronto Zoo. You can meet the Keepers and take a Greenhouse Tour, decorate cookies to share, plant some spring flowers and even get a photo op with the Easter Bunny! Best of all is the Golden Egg. At each of the Wildlife Care Keeper Talks the person who asks the best question will get the golden egg which can be redeemed for a surprise Easter plush! Don’t forget that the Toronto Zoo is an amazing place to visit all year long.

There will be lots of prizes to be won and new this year is the Dancing Flower Parade in Garden Square! The parade will begin in Vivian Lane and proceed into Garden Square for a march.
