Just the name of this game, Ticket to Ride, Europe edition, intrigued me so much that we had to get it. My son loves to play board games so this seemed like a good one to try out and test our skills on. The whole line up of Ticket to Ride games looks challenging, but definitely entertaining. It will certainly bring a new twist to games night whether it is just you and your family playing or friends competing to be crowned the winner. 🙂Â
About The Game
I like the idea of a game having the goal not be to accumulate the most money (or kills as is the case with many video games.) With Ticket to Ride, all of the different versions have the same desired end game: build routes for your railway and tourism empire before someone else beats you to where you need to go! You can learn a little something about the world while having fun playing a game. For example;
“From the craggy hillsides of Edinburgh to the sunlit docks of Constantinople, from the dusty alleys of Pamplona to a windswept station in Berlin, Ticket to Ride Europe takes you on an exciting train adventure through the great cities of turn-of-the-century Europe.
Players travel across Europe to score the highest total number of points by claiming routes between two cities, completing Destination Tickets and competing to claim the longest continuous path of routes across the map! The map board of Europe offers aspiring train magnates plenty of options to create their strategies. Will you risk a trip through Switzerland’s dark Tunnels? Perhaps you’ll venture forth on a Ferry across the Black Sea? Or maybe you’ll erect lavish train Stations in the great capitals of the old empires!”
Ticket to Ride, Europe edition is beautifully simple and easy to learn. It is an entirely new experience for board game enthusiasts and amateurs alike, that does not require the original Ticket to Ride to play and is guaranteed to offer you hours of entertainment and pleasure. I can see this being a game we will play for many years to come.
Did you know the other editions of Ticket to Ride include a travel-friendly New York edition and a First Journey edition for little people? Is this something your family would enjoy?
