Party Rockers in the House tonight :-)

August 29, 2011 By: MapleMouseMama4 Comments

As I sit here typing my extremely precocious children are in the living room with their dad dancing and singing their hearts out. It is just too darn cute 🙂  Emily is the leader of the two and that is hardly surprising.  Anyone who knows her knows she loves to sing and is number one in the drama department.  I have to admit though, I love to listen to her when she sings.  She has a great voice and natural talent and I am not just saying that cause I am her mama.  She has an instinctive inflection in her voice that makes her sound mature.  She knows this to.  Right now she is singing “Rolling in the Deep” by Adele and doing a pretty darn good job at it.  She makes me very proud and emotional all in one well fell swoop.  Emily is very creative when it comes to making up her own lyrics to.  I have tried to encourage her to write these songs down, but for the most part she wings them as she goes along.  I see a future for her, if she so desires, as a writer, whether it be romance novels or songs, they will not lack drama 🙂  She loves to dance and took several classes growing up.  The kind offered through the local parks and recreation centers.  They were not wonderful dance schools, but they still taught the basics.  Enough to give a young child the desire to be creative and have fun.  That’s what being a kid is all about, right?  Got to love them.

William is another story.  Typical little kid, just loves to shake his bootie cause it feels good.  And I don’t blame him.  But he loves to sing to.  I think he got that from his big sister.  One of his favorite songs to sing, at the moment, is Justin Bieber’s “Baby, Baby” and he does a pretty good job for a two year old!  He does not like to share the song though.  When we are in the car he will ask for it and then get mad if anyone else tries to sing along.  Funny yes, but I try discourage it a bit.  Otherwise he won’t make too many friends in the choir 🙂 He picks  up lyrics pretty quickly to.  Another favorite of his is Katy Perry’s “Firework”.  He sings it along with Emily and she does a fine job with it.  Emily wanted to sing that particular song in her school’s talent show this past year, but she changed her mind.  She has the talent, but we need to work on the courage end of things.  Nothing new there.  I love to sing and have forever wished I had more courage to sing in front of others, but alas I do not.  Hopefully Emily outgrows that and soon.
