Today is Sunday, August 28th 2011. Nothing too spectacular about this day for me, but tomorrow is another story. Tomorrow Doug and I will celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary. Hard to believe that much time has passed since we said our I do’s. It has been an incredible journey full of ups and downs, all which we have survived. Perhaps not without a lot of bumps and bruises, but still relatively unscathed. Like most marriages I would imagine. We have our house and our two amazing children. We are both employed, although not in dream jobs, but at least the bills get paid. We have done some travelling and have invested in our retirement funds. We have a lot to show for our time together. It has been an interesting road thus far.
I recall our wedding day like it was yesterday. I was beyond excited to the point that my mom gave me a pill to help me calm down 🙂 I was surrounded by both family and friends from the time I got up, but it was wonderful to share it all. Hair, make up, photos and the gitters. I wouldn’t change any of it. It brought me to today. To a wonderful husband, a lifetime of memories and my amazing children. Pretty good for lucky number 13 🙂

Wow your 19 year anniversary coming soon. I had that one a couple of years ago and I hope you do something fun. It’s a big accomplishment spending that many years with someone.
