I am so excited to be a part of the Destination Disney meme, a really cool blogging technique that allows a bunch of bloggers to share like minded posts. A huge thank you to Heidi over at Heidi’s Head for hooking me up to this wonderful opportunity! The running theme is 10 Weeks of Disney and first up is Top 10 Disney Attractions! Please join me as I share my favorite Disney Attractions and please share your favorites with me 🙂 Just post about them in the comments section and I will be sure to check them out. While your at it you might want to head over to Heidi’s (no pun intended) and check out the links for some other great blogs and see what Disney attractions make them happy 🙂
I would like to say this list is in no particular order, but that is not exactly true. While I love all things Disney there are some more then others that make my heart race. So let’s start with number 10 and see where we end up!
10. Fantasmic!
This incredible show combines fire and water in the best way possible and it lights up the night sky with danger, excitement and tons of characters! I love to get a dinner reservation that guarantees us a good seat for the show so I can sit back and relax, knowing some wonderful entertainment is on it’s way. Oh, and did I mention you can find Fantasmic at Hollywood Studios.
9. Magic of Disney Animation
Also found in HS, the Magic of Disney Animation gives me a great opportunity to learn about how some wonderful characters are created, literally! And the best part is learning to draw one of those characters myself! Walt would be proud of well, some of my drawings 🙂
8. The Jungle Cruise
Jumping over to the Magic Kingdom, my next pick is the corny, but cool, scary, yet sweet ride through the wilds of several continents! The Jungle Cruise is a must ride each time for the sheer joy of watching the elephants frolic and to see if the skipper has some new jokes 🙂
7. Mickey and Minnie’s Homes
Now I know these babies are gone, but they still hold a huge place in my heart. I have many fond memories of looking for the sweet surprises we always seemed to find. My daughter still loves to talk about Minnie’s amazing kitchen!
6. The Living Land Ride
Some may find this ride kind of nerdy, but I love it! Epcot has some hidden gems and this is one of them. The journey is longer than most, but you will discover some pretty neat things, like how to grow a Hidden Mickey shaped pumpkin!
5. Toy Story Mania!
This is such a cool ride, but oddly enough it is not the only cool part. Hollywood Studios is home to a life size version of Andy’s bedroom and how sweet is that?! This is one ride where I do not mind spending time in the queue 🙂
4. Soarin!
You know this ride is on practically every list, but there really is no choice. Soarin is such a creative experience you really won’t mind the hour plus wait to ride. We make the trek downstairs in The Land Pavilion every visit because Soarin is worth it!
3. Dumbo, the Flying Elephant!
I loved this ride before I had children and I will continue to love it as it grows and expands this year in the Magic Kingdom. The little ride does not hold the thrills of Rock and Roller Coaster or the chills of Tower of Terror, so what is it that draws me in every time? That cute little elephant makes me feel like a kid again and that feels good:-)
2. Festival of the Lion King!
I love the shows found all over Disney World, but the best live action show has got to be FOTLK, hands down. I could sit through it over and over again, and see a different angle, literally, each time. The talent of the dancers, singers, acrobats and puppeteers will leave you breathless..
1. Mickey’s PhilharMagic!
My absolute, number one, never miss it and maybe see it more than five times in a visit is Mickey’s PhilharMagic!! I love this wonderful 3D show and normally I am not a fan of 3D. There is something about this wonderful show that makes me want to stay put in my seat at the end and just wait for the next viewing. It could be the action, the music, the smells. It could be the trip down memory lane. It could be the way Donald gets to visit all sorts of characters as he chases the elusive hat. I am not sure what it is, but I love it, unconditionally and completely 🙂 I always take a photo of the massive Donald structure coming out of the ceiling in the ever present gift shop. If I could I would have a miniature of it at home, with me all of the time…
So that is it for me. What do you think of my choices for top ten Disney Attractions? Don’t forget, I would love to hear what yours are. Share with me in the comments and let’s get our Disney on!

Great list! You know, I didn’t add Living with the Land to my persona list but it is something I insist that we ride every time and I always enjoy it. I was actually surprised by how many participants had it on their list this week. 🙂 So, maybe not as nerdy as you may think!
Thanks for playing along!

Thanks for including me Heidi! I am continually amazed at how “big” the Disney blogging community is, but not at how friendly it is. I love meeting new people this way and it stretches my creative muscle a bit too 🙂 I am surprised at just how many love LWTL too! I guess the secret is out! I am looking forward to this week’s theme and have already begun my list!

I love your list because it’s so different, yet it covers important must-dos! I simply love Festival of the Lion King… it was probably number 11 on my list 🙂 Art of Animation USED to be on my list but the old version with Robyn Williams. (You know, before they kicked out all the actual animators?) I still love the Animation Academy part, however.
Thanks for sharing! Great list!

Thanks Rosanne 🙂 It is so hard to narrow it down to ten. What a workout!! It was also a great walk down memory lane for me. I look forward to the next installment.

Love your choices, we have some of the same favorites. I almost added the Magic of Disney Animation to my list, its so much fun!
MapleMouseMama says
Thanks! There are so many that I would have loved to include to, all for different reasons. But it is great to read about other’s choices and their reasons why 🙂

I love Fantasmic! I had forgotten to think about the shows, I was stuck on rides in my head. Nice list! 🙂
MapleMouseMama says
Thank you! I am more a fan of the shows then rides, so they were the first to pop into my head 🙂 But there is always the classic must dos that had to be on there, like Toy Story and Soarin. I have family visiting in DW right now and I spent a good deal of time explaining to them how to get FastPasses first thing in the morning for Soarin. Definitely a must do!

Great list! I forgot about the shows because I had tunnel vision on the rides. I would have added Fantasmic for sure, and perhaps the Luau at the Polynesian Resort.
MapleMouseMama says
Oh yeah, the Luau would have been a great addition!

The Mickey and Minnie’s Homes used to be my fav’s, I actually miss that whole area so I really hope the revamp lives up to its expectations. Great list!
MapleMouseMama says
Thank you and I agree. I miss the homes, but the memories are wonderful. It was never just a walk through place for use and we will really miss them 🙁 I agree about the revamp, but time will tell…

Disney, eh? says
I’m glad you mention the Disney Animation because it’s one attraction that we skipped based on other people’s reviews. Next time, this will be on my to do list!
PS – Nice to meet another Canadian Disney fan! 🙂
MapleMouseMama says
Canadian Disney fans rule 🙂 I love Animation Academy and I too over looked it for many years, but once I stopped in once, I was hooked! The whole thing just takes your involvement and love for Disney to a new level. It is such a great part of our trips!
