I’ve Got My Eye on SelectSpecs.com

I have been wearing glasses for what seems like my whole life.  Well, really since grade four.  I recall my first pair of spectacles.  They were plastic, multicoloured and so pretty.  I think I even still have them kicking around somewhere. Fast forward a few ( okay, more then a few) years and I still buy a new pair of glasses every year.  I went through a stint of wearing contacts, but those days are past now and I wear my glasses every waking minute of the day.  You could say they are an extension of my face really.  So that is why I have always spent a ton of money on my glasses each year.  And by ton I mean hundreds of dollars.  So you can see why, when asked to check out SelectSpecs.com, I was more then excited to.

 SelectSpecs is an online manufacturer of high quality spectacles and contact lenses for extremely reasonable prices.  I was offered a pair of their Economy Line glasses to check out the SelectSpecs website, offerings and ordering process.  Although I have heard of buying glasses on line before I have never done it.  I have always been a bit chicken.  As I mentioned I spend a lot of money on my glasses and getting them for a fraction of the price made me feel the glasses would be inferior to what I  normally wear.  Let me tell you, I was wrong.

SelectSpecs has a huge inventory of frames that will suit anyone’s taste.  I really like that they have price categories, (Value, Economy, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum) which makes it easy to own more then one pair.  The frames I chose, called Savannah Demi, were less then $16.00.  At that price I could have several pairs in a variety of colours and patterns!

SelectSpecs works just like any brick and mortar eyeglass shop in that they offer a full range of lenses.  This is where you are better off spending your money should you need a special type of lens.  While the pair of glasses I received from SelectSpecs do not have the type of lens I normally wear, they are still great for everyday use.  My prescription is quite “thick” so I like to have lenses that are thinner, have a special coating to reduce glare and scratches and so on. At SelectSpecs you have those options available.

The ordering process was fairly easy!  I needed to have my current prescription on hand and take a measurement of my PD (Pupillary Distance), but the SelectSpecs website has a tutorial on how to get that measurement if you do not know yours.  It made taking the measurement very easy.  Placing my order took no time at all with selecting the frames being the hardest decision. 🙂   I sent an email to the customer service area with a question and had a reply in less than 24 hours.  Great service! I expected my order to take a long time to arrive because SelectSpecs is located in the UK, but I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived in less than two weeks!  My glasses were safe and secure, packaged with a nice case and cleaning cloth. 

I am really enjoying my new frames.  They are kind of funky and fun to wear, so much so that my daughter had to get in on the act. 🙂   Gone are the days of spending a small fortune on my eyeglasses.  I will definitely order from SelectSpecs again.
