As my own daughter enters tween-hood I fondly recall my time during that golden age. Who remembers trying out their mom’s make -up or looking for treasures in her jewelry box? How about laughing with your girlfriends as you modeled your first training bra and then trying to hide it under a sweatshirt at school? The best times were spent having sleepovers at each others homes, staying up late to watch a scary movie and stuffing your face with forbidden night time snacks like chocolate! Oh, those were the days…
I may not be able to turn back the clock and become a tween again, but thanks to Glama Gal Tween Spa I can relive some of those wonderful memories now, with my own tween. Glama Gal Tween Spa, recent recipient of the coveted Parent Tested Parent Approved Award, is a day spa with services geared specifically toward young gals of all ages. In addition to appointments and special birthday parties, Glama Gal also hosts unique events, like day camps and the upcoming Glama Gal Mother Daughter Pajama Party!!
This Friday, September 19th, between the hours of 7pm and 9pm, moms and their daughters (ages 6 and older) can treat themselves to a pajama party Glama Gal style! Included in the cost for the evening is:
- Sweet Like Mommy Sundae Bar
- Mommy and Me DIY Chocolicious Facials
- Cotton Candy Mani’s with Hand Massage Lesson
- 4 x 6 Memorable Moment Photo Keepsake
- Funky Hair Face Off ( Daughters will give their mom the funkiest hairstyle to win a prize)
- Movie and Pink Popcorn during the event
Glama Gal Tween Spa has many locations through out Ontario with most of them hosting the much anticipated Mother Daughter Pajama Party. Tickets can be ordered via the Glama Gal site, with options for additional daughters, if you are blessed to have more then one. While you are there check out the other spa services offered or peruse the birthday party packages.
One thing that has been a constant since my Emily turned six or seven a few years back is her desire to get a manicure or pedicure with me, during the odd time when I have indulged. Most “adult” day spas do not accept young clients for varying reasons, so having a place like Glama Gal Tween Spa to turn to is so welcome! Now I get to spend quality time with my tween and get pampered too!

I took my DD and her Best Friend to the Glama Gals spa in Vaughan a few years back. They had a blast and the only thing better would have been if I could have joined in on the Mani/Pedis. Enjoy some quality time with Emily!!!

Mom and I used to share clothes but now because I became thinner and she gained a lot of weight, we can’t do that anymore. This just reminds me of those days when we also wear matching pajamas.

Pajama parties seems like so much fun, though believe it or not I have never attended any. Now that I think of it it is a wonderful idea to spend some more time with my daughter and enjoy such a party, too!
