We have finally arrived at week ten, the last week of this round of Destination Disney, brought to you by Heidi’s Head. It is kind of bittersweet as I start this post because I have truly enjoyed the walk down memory lane, but I also don’t want it to end. However, lucky for me there is another Destination Disney Meme starting up just around the corner!! I get to continue this great journey and work my creative muscle, all at the same time. 🙂 Before launching into this week’s topic of Most Favorite Park I want to take this opportunity to thank Heidi for hosting this great Meme and for the cool ideas she has presented. I hope you, my wonderful readers, have enjoyed this series and will check back when the next series, Destination Disney In Colour starts soon. And yes, I know Heidi spells colour without the U, but us Canadians have a different view so the U stays. 🙂 I am sure Heidi will understand. 🙂
Most Favorite Park – Magic Kingdom!!
This one was really a no brainer for me. I did not struggle making my choice this time around. The Magic Kingdom has always been my most favorite park, ask anyone. 🙂 It might have something to do with us both being “born” in the same year, one month apart no less. If fact last year when the MK celebrated it’s big fortieth birthday, I had just celebrated mine! The big 40 is a big deal, so to share it with the Magic Kingdom was cool. I did not make it down for the big celebration on the October 1st weekend, but I did get there soon after and that was good enough for me. My Christmas tree has it’s MK birthday ornament so all is right in my world. 🙂
So many things come to mind when I recount why the Magic Kingdom is my favorite, and I have the pictures to prove it. 🙂 Now don’t groan, I know I post a lot of photos, but I will go easy this time. Fact is many of my photos already grace this blog because of my love for the MK. So a few reasons and a few pictures ought to do the trick.
* The Magic Kingdom makes me feel like a kid again, plain and simple. Where else can you dance and sing and play with the wonderful characters of our youth and not feel silly?
* Cinderella’s Castle, simple put, makes me feel like a princess, even at forty years of age. It never fails that when I get my first full look at the castle I start to choke up and can’t speak. Getting to watch the wonderful shows in front of it and dine inside of it with Ms Cindy herself is the icing on the, well, the castle. 🙂
* Wishes is by far the best fireworks show I have ever seen and I adore fireworks. The music, the lights, Tinkerbell’s flight and Mr. Jiminy Cricket himself combine to take your breath away and always, always leave me in tears. Happy tears though, definitely happy tears. 😉
* The House of Mouse. Magic Kingdom is where my favorite characters live and that is Mickey and Minnie. Up until recently you could even spend some time wondering through the respective homes of M and M, but sadly they are gone now for the Fantasyland restructuring. Maybe someday they will return. One can only hope.
* I do love Fantasyland though. It is my favorite land in all of the Magic Kingdom. This is a paradise of youthful rides. 🙂 I adore them all, from it’s a small world to the Teacups, Dumbo and more. And Fantasyland is home to my most favorite show in all of Disney World, Mickey’s PhilharMagic. There is nothing about Fantasyland that I don’t love.
* Main Street USA, in all it’s glory, is a great way to spend an afternoon, although I usually get an hour if I am lucky. 🙂 Shopping experiences are abundant with stores like The Chapeau, the Emporium and my personal favorite Uptown Jewelers. You can enjoy some people watching with a treat from the Main Street Bakery or a Mickey Krispie treat while listening to the Dapper Dans. I always get at least one photo of myself and daughter “holding” the giant bundle of balloons for sale. This is a must do for me. 🙂
* Disney World at Christmas is our favorite time to visit and the Magic Kingdom always looks amazing! From the giant tree to the beautiful wreathes all over the place and the winter gear the characters wear, it is just wonderful! Spending time at the MK during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a great way to immerse yourself in the magic of Disney at Christmas time. I have even had the pleasure of dancing with Chip and Dale!
* Crystal Palace is one of our favorite Character Meals to attend. We make a reservation for every trip and always look forward to some quality time with Winnie, Tigger and friends. The food is very good and it is a great way to cool off mid afternoon.
I could go on and on about the Magic Kingdom, but you get the idea. Photo opportunities abound with both Photo Pass Magic Photos and your own camera. Have your autograph book at the ready for the amazing characters you will meet. The Magic Kingdom is simply the best way to enjoy being a kid again, whether you are 2, 40 or 83. You do not have to look hard to find the magic. 🙂
As always I would love to hear about your choice for most favorite park. Please take a moment to tell me about it and why, in the comments. Then stop by Heidi’s Head to read about some other choices made by my fellow bloggers. You will be glad that you did. 🙂

LOL, thank you Heidi! It has been a lot of fun and lit a fire under my butt. Time is almost never on my side when it comes to my blog so your meme has given a goal and I appreciate that. I lay in bed last night thinking, ” what will I post for red?” so I am still in gear and will get on that one next. Thanks Heidi 🙂

I agree with everything in this post! Magic Kingdom is my favorite park and Christmas is my favorite time to visit! To me, the Magic Kingdom embodies everything that is “Disney”. Fairy tales, castles, characters, shows, SHOPPING! I love it all!

I’m glad you agree Leslie! The Magic Kingdom really is it for me and although I love the other parks, I could never go and not visit MK at least once. It truly is home for me 🙂
Thanks for reading and taking the time to post. I really appreciate it!

It’s impossible for me to pick a favorite park! It depends who I’m with I guess.
With my daughter, the Magic Kingdom is the winner, but if it’s just my husband and I, we love to wander through Epcot (especially at night).
With a bunch of friends, I love the thrills of Hollywood Studios and when I’m with my extended family it’s fun to be at Animal Kingdom with all the kids.
So….I’ll just pick them all!

I like your rationalizations Elana 🙂 I agree that it all depends who you are with as to what park is the “best” at that time. Thanks for sharing and reading along 🙂
