Bring The Tissues ‘Cause Disney Pixar’s Latest Will Turn You “Inside Out”

June 19, 2015 By: MapleMouseMama8 Comments

Just when you think they couldn’t get any more creative, the geniuses at Disney Pixar have done it again. Inside Out is one of a kind. This entertaining little movie makes it’s worldwide debut today and you will not want to miss it.  You know those little voices inside your head? They are alive and well and ready to make you laugh, cry and even get a little ticked off. I am sure you know them all very well, but let me introduce you to Fear, Disgust, Joy, Anger and Sadness.

inside out

As a die hard fan of all things Disney and Pixar (think the Toy Story greats, Wall E and Wreck It Ralph for starters) I always think they can’t do better than the last epic production, but then, they do! Inside Out just proves that. Who would think you could take something like our basic emotions and turn them into this intelligent, thought provoking, yet completely entertaining movie. The kids will love it because it’s Disney Pixar, but parents will love how the real emotions are portrayed with a gentleness that will have you recalling your own imaginary friend.  ♥

Based in Headquarters, the control center inside 11-year-old Riley’s mind, five Emotions are hard at work, led by lighthearted optimist Joy (voice of Amy Poehler), whose mission is to make sure Riley stays happy. Fear (voice of Bill Hader) heads up safety, Anger (voice of Lewis Black) ensures all is fair and Disgust (voice of Mindy Kaling) prevents Riley from getting poisoned—both physically and socially. Sadness (voice of Phyllis Smith) isn’t exactly sure what her role is, and frankly, neither is anyone else.

When Riley’s family relocates to a scary new city, the Emotions are on the job, eager to help guide her through the difficult transition. But when Joy and Sadness are inadvertently swept into the far reaches of Riley’s mind—taking some of her core memories with them—Fear, Anger and Disgust are left reluctantly in charge. Joy and Sadness must venture through unfamiliar places—Long Term Memory, Imagination Land, Abstract Thought and Dream Productions—in a desperate effort to get back to Headquarters, and Riley.

All I can tell you is that I fell in love with this movie and can not wait to see it again. Yes, it is that good.  My kids loved it and so did I.  Bring tissues because I can guarantee you will need them.  Inside Out is fast becoming my new favourite Disney Pixar film.

Enjoy!

I have no doubt that a packet of tissues wouldn’t be enough to mop up my tears, I cry easily and profusely whilst watching movies. 🙂
