If there is one thing this Disney lover enjoys putting on, it’s a good pair of Mickey Ears! There are no shortage of things to have as a favourite or must have souvenir when one visits a Disney Park, but many of those items are somewhat generic. Like t-shirts. Everyone gets a t-shirt when they go away, but not everyone gets an ear hat or pair of Mickey Ears, right? I have a small collection that is growing slowly and I love each and every set in the bunch. And unlike a t-shirt, they all still fit me and I know the reason why I got each pair.
Take for example these pretty babies. All three pairs were made earlier this year for both my daughter Emily and I to wear when we visited Disney World for a very special event – the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. These gorgeous ears were each custom made, by hand, according to our requests, by Jennifer Manthey, the talent and brains behind Simply Pixie Dust. (Read all about Jennifer here.) Jennifer has this wonderful shop on Etsy and has been making custom Mickey Ears since 2014. The shop offers some standard ears that you can order or Jennifer will make you ones that are exactly as you envision. Since Sleeping Beauty is my very favourite princess I wanted my ears to reflect that, but I am not a fan of gold, so we switched it up to a silver crown.
The ears that Jennifer made for Emily are a work of art! My daughter had her heart set on purple flowers, so Jennifer dyed each one individually to achieve the desired look. The end result was stunning and Emily’s ears were the talk of the town. 🙂
Jennifer takes her inspiration from her own love of all things Disney, whether she is creating ears for Halloween or for a bridal party.
