Tonight I finally “met”, via the telephone, my wonderful Disney kindred spirit friend Kim! Kim and I have exchanged countless emails in the past few months and I feel like we have really gotten to know one another this way. Our notes probably started out kind of formal, as probably all new friendships do, but they very quickly became very candid and comfortable. We have shared our likes and dislikes, stories about our amazing children (two each, one boy and one girl 🙂 ), our Disney dreams and so on. I have been privy to many photos of Kim, but she has only had access to a very tiny amount of me (won’t she be surprised this coming Friday!!!) As many who know me understand I do not like to be in the photos, just take them. Anyway, I digress.. My wonderful adventure in Disney World begins in a few short days and I will finally get to meet Kim, face to face, on Friday December 9th 2011. We thought it best to chat on the phone first, to sort of break the ice, so tonight I called her. Oh and Kim lives in Charlotte, North Carolina by the way. Well, it was a wonderful call!! I think we were on the phone for an hour, at least, and we could have stayed on for hours more 🙂 It was such a treat to finally meet this way. I swear I am still a bit giddy from our call. Do I sound a little weird? Maybe it is strange how we met, but I do think it is becoming the norm for folks to meet on the net. However, I was thrilled to chat with Kim tonight and put a voice to her lovely photos 🙂
So, the fun continues as I ready myself and Emily (unbeknownst to her) for our grand adventure this week! This winter escape to my happy place is made all the better knowing I get to meet Kim!! See ya soon!!

I was still giddy this morning after our call!! BTW, I forgot to tell you, I was chatting with two of my friends last night and they shared that they met each other over Facebook!! I think this finding like-minded friends over the web thingy is much more common than I realized!! 🙂

I know what you mean Kim! I know of a few people who developed close personal relationships from FB. Some good, some not so good, but it is the wave of the future to meet this way. 🙂

Hi Lauren, it is a a Mama/Daughter trip again. I would love to bring William, but this is a shorter trip and we are doing some things differently. William will have his turn soon… Thanks for the good wishes!
