Today marks the beginning of a massive meet and greet at my happy place, Disney World. This meet up is a combination of several great events mashed into one. The most notable for Disney itself is the annual Food and Wine Festival, which is held every fall in Epcot. I have never been to the Food and Wine Festival and it lands somewhere near the top of my Disney Bucket List. The other biggie for Disney this weekend is the celebration of Epcot’s 30th Anniversary!! That is a pretty big deal and you can bet there will be some amazing merchandise up for sale. The big day for Epcot is October 1st.
Now, if I were fortunate enough to be traveling to Disney World this weekend my reasons for going would encompass a few other events, ones less associated with a Disney park. Does that surprise you? 🙂 Today marks the beginning of the now annual Disney Moms Panel Reunion Weekend! Many of the very fortunate Moms Panelists travel to Disney World to get together and spread some pixie dust to their adoring fans! Yes, I said adoring and while that may put me in a class just a step below stalker, I don’t really care. I love me some Disney Moms Panel and the lovely folks that come along with it. After all, it is just a matter of time before yours truly BECOMES a Moms Panelist, right?? 🙂 The panelists do their own thing, but they are also hosting a luncheon at the fabulous California Grill located at the top of the Contemporary Resort, just outside of the Magic Kingdom!! Several of my Disney friends were lucky enough to get their names in early and be accepted to this exclusive event! They will get to hobnob with many panelists, including the Pink Princess and my future boss (hopefully), Ms Laura Spencer!! I can’t wait to hear all about it and see the wonderful photos that are sure to be shot!
The other amazing meet up happening this weekend is the coming together of dozens of Disney Divas!! This meet up is very exciting and I really wanted to be there. Alas, it was not meant to be, this time. However, these ladies, with a few gents thrown in, came together because of our shared love for Disney, our desire to become Moms Panelists and the ingenuity of one Faith Dority. Faith created this event, the Disney Divas Girls Weekend 2012 and it has grown from there. These wonderful people have all become fast friends, mostly on line, but because of the Mouse. This weekend will mark the first time many, if not most, of them will meet each other face to face. How wonderfully exciting is that?!?! I really wish I could be there, but I am content to know how much I will be missed. 🙂 That is what is so great about these people. They want to meet one another and hug each other and take photos together. That is our Disney Family. 🙂
There are some great events happening at Disney World this weekend. Meet ups, reunions, even a couple of marathons thrown in the mix, but I think I am most looking forward to hearing about the Disney Divas meet up and to see the pictures. If I am lucky, I will get to meet some Canadians ones soon. Stay tuned….. 🙂
