I have had the chance to reflect on some things over the past few days, not the least of which is my children and their health. Let’s face it, we almost all take good health for granted until something bad happens and then we wonder how it could have happened to us. But no one is immune, unfortunately 🙁 I know from personal experience that, while pregnant, I did a lot of worrying for my unborn child’s health, but there was still that part of me that felt nothing bad could really happen. Fortunately I was right, but so many others are not that lucky. I recently learned of a young girl whose family has brought her home to live out what little time she has left, surrounded by her family and loved ones. I can not fathom how that mother and father must feel. It is utterly heartbreaking and I offer up a prayer for their strength and courage, as well as their daughter’s peace and comfort as she returns to be with God.
So, on this weekend when we celebrate the true miracle of Jesus’s rebirth, I want to offer my thanks. Thank you dear Lord for keeping my family safe and healthy. Thank you for sparing my children so I can hold them tight each day and tell them how much I love them. Thank you for the miracles we see each and every day. I am not so sure the human race is truly deserving of Your good will, but I thank you for it. God bless the little children who suffer and keep them safe in your embrace..
