The beautiful Blue Mountain Resort, located just an or so north of Toronto, Ontario is a great place to plan an impromptu weekend getaway to with your love, plan a socially distanced shopping trip with the girls or even just to chill by the pool (one of many) and be happy that the pandemic appears to be slowing down. At least for now. The thought of packing a suitcase, getting in the car and driving to a place that is not my house has me all-a-tingle, so when this press release hit my inbox today I had to share it with ya’all.
Blue Mountain Resort Set To Reopen
“Blue Mountain Resort will officially reopen for summer on Friday, June 4th. The four-season destination, located 2 hours north of Toronto, was forced to close before the end of the Resort’s busy ski season due to the provincial shutdown orders. After over two months of closed operations, the Resort is ready and excited to open the Mountain for exploring, playing and relaxing outdoors again.
“The Resort has been quiet but the team has been busy getting ready for what we hope is the return to a summer we all have been waiting for,” says Tara Lovell, Manager Public Relations for Blue Mountain Resort. “As an outdoor destination with something for everyone, Blue is an ideal getaway for families who have spent that last two months at home.”
What’s Open At Blue Mountain
Attractions opening this weekend include Cascade Putting, the Mill Pond Activity Centre, The Rock Climbing Wall, Chutes and Lumber Ball Run, Open-Air Gondola, Woodlot Low Ropes and the Timber Challenge High Ropes course. As the province moves into Stage 1 of the Roadmap to Reopening, Blue will add the Ridge Runner Mountain Coaster, Wind Rider Triple Zips and Segways to its bucket list of Adventure Park attractions. With a Play All Day Pass, guests can ride, zip and putt in the Adventure Park all day long and can level up their play with an Add-On Adventure.
What’s New At Blue Mountain
Blue is also inviting visitors of all ages and abilities to pick their own path and explore the natural landscape of the Mountain in the newly enhanced Explore Park. The Blue Mountain Explore Park features over 30kms of hiking trails presented by Columbia Sportswear as well as a series of cross-country biking trails. Mountaintop bike trails will open this weekend with climbing and ride-down bike trails making their summer debut on July 1. Guests can access the Explore Park trail system and unlimited Gondola use with an Explore All Day Pass, seasonal Explore Pass or with one of the 21/22 winter Season Passes.
How Blue Mountain Is Handling Covid
“We already adapted operations in-response to COVID-19 and guests can expect that physical distancing, masking in required areas and capacity management will all be in place as we return to operations,” says Lovell.
Guests are encouraged to visit www.bluemountain.ca and plan ahead of their summer visit to Blue. The Explore Pass, Play All Day Pass and Add-On Adventures must be purchased online in advance of guests’ arrival to secure their mountain access. There will be no walk-up tickets available this summer.
Resort operations details and updates along with lodging and attraction ticket information can all be found online at www.bluemountain.ca”
