April showers will surely bring us some May flowers and with those flowers comes a very special opportunity to honour and celebrate all the mommas out there –  Mother’s Day! This year that day of days falls on Sunday, May 13th, which means you have less than a month to find the perfect way to say thank you to the woman who either gave you life or made the life you live possible.  

You could hope to win a fabulous prize to share with mom, like the one to be won in this huge cash giveaway or you could hit up the shopping mall for some inspiration! If you have young children, you could set them the task of creating a sweet craft for their mom, nana, grandma, aunt etc or you could try your own hand at making a necklace out of macaroni. Of course, I jest. 🙂 If my son gives me a homemade necklace I would cherish it; hubby could maybe try another route. 😉

Whatever you decide to do or give for Mother’s Day, it is always nice to have something beautiful to wrap it in and other lovely items to add to the decor.     I love the lily of the valley. It is to bad they do not last longer. They smell so nice the same with lilacs.

    I love seeing all the brightly coloured tulips, but my real favourite is when I see the blossoms on our plum tree! It’s a long wait until the ripe plums, but so worth it!

    My favourite flower to see blooming in the springtime is Syringa vulgaris aka Lilac. Pretty to look at & the smell in the air.

    Busy life – planted perennials so that I could see beauties every year. Was gifted Orange Tiger Lillies – and each spring they burst through the ground along with those I planted – white & burgundy peonies.

    The first shrub to bloom here is the forsythia and it is so vibrant and yellow! A cheerful colour! I also love the bulbs, tulips, daffodils, crocus, hyacinths, and ……I knew it! I can’t pick one! Spring flowers have such hope and promise!

    For me its lilies, I have some that are the SK ones and I have bought others but one didn’t make it . HOpefully they all come back this yr but nothings popped up just yet INCLUDING all the bulbs I put in , in the fall

    i love to see the first tulips bloom, as well as daffodils. Really, there is no flower I dislike seeing bloom in the spring – even dandelions 😀

    I am in the USA so I am probably not eligible but I just have to respond to the question. My favorite flower of spring is the crocus. It is the first flower to poke its head through the snow and offer the hope of renewed life. There is so much promise in this delicate yet tenacious flower of spring.

    Not enough tulips in the world. Love how they grow nice and tall and straight….so colourful!

    My favourites are lily of the valley. We have hundreds at our place and i never get tired of their scent.
