I have always been an avid reader and lover of books. I have my own collection that dates back to my childhood and nothing makes me happier than to see my daughter reading them now. We are so lucky that both of my kids love to read. At age 12, Emily has a small collection of her own now and at 6 years, William is far ahead of his grade already. I love to discover new stories for them to check out, although Emily has her own ideas. 🙂 But with William, I can still surprise him with beautiful books full of exciting tales and delightful illustrations.
Every Christmas I get the children at least one new book, usually something a bit more special than our everyday stories. I was thrilled when a charming new book was presented to me called ‘Lost My Name.’ The creators of this sweet book are three dads and an uncle, who all had a desire to provide better quality books for their kids to help bring back the love of reading. In this age of iPads and tablets it is refreshing to find a book that just calls out for a comfy couch to cuddle with your little one while you read.
The magic ingredient of ‘Lost My Name’ is in the personalization. The books are entitled ‘The Little Girl Who Lost Her Name‘ and ‘The Little Boy Who Lost His Name‘ and they each tell the tale of a child who sets off on a magical adventure to find the missing letters of their name. As you journey through the book, your child is given the first letter of each character’s name to help them put together their own. As every child’s name is different so to is their story.
And oh how sweet each story will be! From the upset Wizard who is retraining to be a plumber to the Lion who just wants to play and the Inuit fisherman who can’t catch a thing, your child will revel in being the star of their very own tale. The illustrations are equally as wonderful with rich, vibrant characters leaping off the page at every turn.

this is a tough choice as i have 9 nieces and nephews and 4 of them are exactly 2 years old. I think I’d choose one of the two year olds… the soonest of their birthdays is Veralyse. So I might choose her. Also she has such a cool name.

Hi Lee, I left some comments on the post you put on my Facebook page. Have you been able to contact the company about this situation? As per the comments I left, I checked their site for contact numbers etc and I think your best bet is to send a message via Facebook. I am sorry this happened to you, especially so close to Christmas. Unfortunately there is nothing more that I can do to help, but I do wish you luck.
