I have been letting the stockpile of “cute things my kids say and do” add up so it is time to release the memories to the blog. I swear I think I said this once before, but the thought just came to me so I will share it, quite possibly for a second time. Ever read the Harry Potter series? Watch the movies? Yes to both on my account and more then once for both as well. Anyway, Harry fans will know what I am talking about in just a second. When I thought about sharing these memories of the kids the initial picture that was clear in my mind was of Dumbledor removing his memories with his wand and putting them in the Penseive. Sorry, I had to share that, LOL, cause it’s true!
So, those memories, or stories really. Well, just a week ago we took the kids for a walk down on the lake shore in Mississauga, Ontario. We had a nice walk, took some cute pictures and just had a good time as a family. Then William spied up a playground, in the distance. As he and his daddy started to head toward it I told Doug that it was on the grounds of the Yacht Club and would not be accessible. They went anyway. When they realized they could not get on to the grounds they went around to the front where there were these huge and heavy iron gates, which of course were closed. When Doug told William they could not go through the gates and would have to leave, without missing a beat William said, “But we can fit under the gate Daddy. Come on,let’s go!” What a riot! Starting the breaking and entering thing a bit early, but he is pretty clever.:-)
Another cute thing William said was just tonight. We went to the park, walked around the lake and fed the ducks, well Canada Geese actually and it was just the kids feeding them. When they started to chase the kids, I planned to be far away.. After the park we decided on getting pizza for dinner, from Pizza Nova, our go to Food Allergy friendly place. William then piped up to say he wanted to get pizza from “Pizza Reva“. That turned into a chant about going to Pizza Reva for dinner, which then turned into singing a chorus or two of , “Emily Bum, she took the long way home”, a cute diddy made up by William and daddy. I have no idea where he got the Pizza Reva from, but it was too cute not to share. ♥
Every once in awhile William will say that he wants us to have a baby or ask when are we gonna have a baby so he can be a big brother. Keep in mind he is only four. My standard reply is that I don’t think ( although I know ) there will be any more babies in our house. He usually lets it go after that. Today he mentioned again that he would like a baby and when I started to say that I didn’t think so he jumped up and said, quite excitedly, that he “saw on the TV there was a store in the town where we could get a baby.” I replied something like, “Oh really?” and William said, “Can we go there today? I will bring my pennies to help get the baby.” Needless to say we went to the park and not the baby store.
As for Ms. Emily, well, the things that come out of her mouth these days are far less cute and way too often about her latest passion, the boy band One Direction. I have to say I feel sorry for my parents if this was the way I behaved over New Kids on the Block. Man, she is driving me nuts! She will step out of the house to get the newspaper, but have to “fix” herself first. When I ask why her reply is that you never know when One Direction might be doing a “surprise your biggest fan” type of show. Quite the imagination on that one.
But I do have a cute Emily story. About two weeks ago we had to haul the whole gang to the doctor’s office for various aliments. We had a very long wait, almost two hours, as it was a walk in clinic. The kids were very well behaved, for the most part, but when William started to get really cranky Emily decided to teach him how to tie shoes. There the two of them were, crouched down over their dad’s runners, tying and untying them. I would hear Emily say, “The rabbit goes through the hole” and William would say, “Emily I don’t see no rabbit.” It was one of those moments where the laughter and the love collided. Such a sweet, touching moment. ♥
So that is all for now. I have lots more of these babies stored up for another night. I am just thankful I have a place to jot them down so I don’t ever forget the “cute things my kids say and do.”
What is something cute your kiddos say that makes you giggle? Thanks for stopping by. ♥

I like hearing the memories from their perspective. It really does give you a better appreciation for the memories.
You are right Mary. I think when you see something through a child’s eyes we give it more worth, which these memories definitely have for me ♥ thanks for visiting!
