Destination Disney: Five Favorite Snacks!

May 6, 2012 By: MapleMouseMama3 Comments

This is one topic that is so easy to get wrapped up in.  🙂  Favorite snacks from Disney World??  So easy, yet so hard to only pick just five…  But I can always fuel my dreams with thoughts of the others.  🙂  So, as the title suggests, Destination Disney’s topic for Week Six is Five Favorite Snacks.  Don’t forget to share your faves with me in the comments section and don’t be shy with the details 😉  cause everyone loves snacks…  Then, when you are done just head on over to Heidi’s Head and check out her list and those of our blogger friends.  There is some pretty mouthwatering options out there!

1) Funnel Cake

My daughter and I love funnel cake and to eat it whilst in Disney World is heavenly.  🙂  We usually have it in the American Adventure Pavilion in Epcot so we can sit in the shade and people watch.  Some strawberries and powdered sugar complete the look and we are off to the races!  We have also had it at Animal  Kingdom, from the sweet little shack Forest Trail found in Camp Minnie Mickey.  It was very good here as well, but it was a bit too hot in the park to fully enjoy.  The Boardwalk is another great place to have it so you can sit back and relax.  🙂  Love me some funnel cake.  🙂

2) Mickey Ice Cream Bars

These premium vanilla ice cream bars that are shaped just like a Hidden Mickey are so good!  Plain and simple.  They are a must have at least once per trip and sometimes twice.  Now you would think that being on vacation you could have as many as you like, but I find that, with the heat and the walking, the last thing I want to over indulge in is ice cream. 🙁 Sad, but true.  Something to look forward to though..

3) Disney Chocolate Bars / Tigger Peanut Butter Cups

I thoroughly enjoy a well made peanut butter cup.  I just can’t help it. 🙂 Since my son was diagnosed with a peanut allergy I don’t have them anymore, but the Tigger Peanut Butter Cups were always a favorite of mine.  A couple of years ago my daughter and I took our first mommy and me trip together and my husband surprised us with an in room treat!  It was the Disney Chocolate Bar Cake!  OMG there were so many bars and the inside was filled with pretzels, cookies and other treats.  It was a very sweet treat. 🙂

4) Cookies From The Candy Cauldron

Now I know you can find these cookies in many other places on property, but the Candy Cauldron is the first place I bought them.  Each cookie comes individually wrapped and they are all in a cute little bag/box combo.  I can’t, for the life of me, recall the name of the cookies, but my favorite flavour is White Chocolate with Cranberry.  These are so good and they are a decent size so one is often enough.  Hahahahah, who am I kidding.  One cookie is never enough. 🙂  Now I could not find a photo of these, so I am sticking in the Candy Cauldron for, well, eye candy. 🙂

5) Goofy’s Candy Company Create Your Own Mickey Shaped Krispy Treat

We have done the create your own a few times now and we always get a krispy treat.  It is so much fun to pick your toppings and then watch them make it!  These suckers end up weighing a ton, but they last forever!  We have lately just got one, for my daughter and I, and we can snack on that well after we get home.

So there you have it, snacks galore!  Now I am hungry, especially for those cookies and a cup of tea. Oh well, I will have to reminisce for now and dream about them later.  The one cool thing about my favorite Disney snacks is that I have something great to look forward to when we are there.  Only thing I will change is next time, I am bringing home a whole bunch to savor the magic for a bit longer. 🙂

OK, so I had no clue you could design-you-own krispie treats. That’s neat! I’ll have to let my kids do that next time

Heidi, it is a must do for us! Fun to choose your options and watch it be made and even more fun to eat!! We have brought them home with us and keep them in the fridge and they have lasted quite a while 🙂 Your kids will love it!

This is a great list but you forgot the most important thing “DOLE WHIP”. That is the best Disney snack.
