One of the things I love to do whilst at Disney is shop. Yes, I am one of those people who can justify why there is a store at the exit of most of the rides and attractions and I really do not care to hear others complain about it. I adore browsing the shelves and racks, hoping against hope that something new and exciting will jump out at me and say, “pick me, pick me, pick me!!” Silly little darlings needn’t worry too much. If money were not an object they’d all be mine. But I will get to them all sooner or later.
The latest topic for Destination Disney, courtesy of our friend Heidi, is our Four Most Favorite Souvenirs or souvies as I like to call them. This really was a hard one for me to narrow down and I also realized I did not have much in the way of photos! I choose my four, with an honorable mention and even at that I had to restrain myself not to include more. Who am I kidding? Of course there is more! After perusing my list, why not head on over to Heidi’s and see what everyone else picked. You’ll be glad that you did!
1) My Disney Dooney
My Disney Dooney and Burke is a purse or bag that I absolutely adore! This purse has been mine for over two glorious years and I have rarely been without it. My bag is called the Wonder and it is bright and happy despite the solid black background. I love my Disney Dooney! I would have several others if they did not cost so darn much, but such is life. I will tough it out with my Wonder!
2) My Mickey Earrings
These earrings, believe it or not, are just regular souvenir earrings, the kind that they make millions of. The ones in the photo are actually not the ones I wear everyday, but they are mine. I bought the same earrings during our trip in 2006 for about $15.00. They are the kind they market as your birthstone, but I liked them for wearing with different outfits so I bought three pair; clear, blue and red. The blue and red tarnished and basically broke apart after a couple of years, but the clear ones have lasted. I swear, with very little exception, I wear them Every Single Day. I bought the ones in the photo about two years ago and they are silver and cost $40.00 I purchased them because they are made from a better material and I thought they would be replacing my first pair soon. So far that has not happened. My $15 pair have gone the distance and I love them!!
3) My Mickey Tennis Bracelet
This beautiful bracelet was my husband’s gift to me this past Christmas. I have often said that I would love a tennis bracelet someday, but this beauty was not on my radar. Who even knew such a lovely piece existed? Another super favorite of mine that I will wear til the cows come home. I get so many compliments on it and love to see people’s face when they realize it is Mickey! That makes it worth the price of admission.
4) Christmas Ornaments
By now I have collected many Disney ornaments. Each trip is not complete without one and it is usually way more than one. If I had the room at home I would have a tree dedicated just to my Disney ornaments because I certainly have enough of them. Some I even keep out all year long because they are just too pretty to put away. The ornaments run from being the Mickey head shaped ones, to princesses to the unusual. My favorites though are from my trips with just my daughter and I. These hold a very special place in my heart

Honorable Mentions
The first one that came to my mind when I saw this topic was this Pen that I got way back in 1995 during my first ever trip to the World. It was pink on the bottom and the top half was filled with a liquid that made the contents appear to float when you turned it upside down. This pen showed Mickey walking down a path in front of the castle. I loved that pen and I am sure it is buried in my massive memory box somewhere. I vowed never to get ride of it!
My Pal Mickey doll was my first purchase back in 2006 and was bought primarily to entertain my then almost four year old daughter. I loved My Pal Mickey and we carried him the whole time. He went on another trip in 2008 and now sits proudly on a shelf in my bedroom.
PhotoPass photos from the Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique and pretty much all the pictures we have ever taken. These are my true memory boosters and I love to look at them over and over again with my family.
My last honorable mention was not really a souvie from the parks, but it is Disney so for me it counts. Awhile ago Disney decided to honor it’s 75 years of creating magic by creating the Mickey InspEARations statues. These things were over six feet tall and individually designed by celebrities, sports personalities, artists and so on. They are all pretty neat and the average person can own a normal size version. I have three and they were about $25.00 each. I especially love their names; I have Patchwork Pal, Mickey in Yellow and Mickey’s Dream.
So, there you have it. I went a bit over my limit of four, but you can see why they all mean so much to me, right? Share yours with me in the comments and let’s compare memories.

Suzanne I love the bracelet and you already know I love the earrings too as I have bought 3 pairs and hopefully on the next trip I will buy another pair. Well I will try to limit my list to only four, but it’s going to be very hard.
1. Pal Mickey (he looks so sharp in his tux) We just love him and the memories we have with him will last forever.
2. Photo album that lights up (a gift from my mom on our first trip)
3. Disney Cruise frame we purchased on the Wonder (it has lights which look like fireworks lighting up and it’s signed by Capt.Henry)
4. Personalized Mickey ears we got on our first trip for my boys.
If I can squeeze in just one more….it will have to be the Canada flag Mickey head pin.
Nelly, I love your list and thank you for sharing it with me! We are too much alike with our Disney earrings and love for Pal Mickey
If I recall correctly it was you who turned me on to him in the first place!! And your album is great. I love that it still works well past the trip home! And the ears are perfect! That is one thing I do not have for Doug and I and now William is our own ears. I am fixing that on our next trip for sure.. And I agree with you on the pin. I recall a customer having one on her jacket a long time ago and from that moment, which was over ten years ago, I knew I had to get that pin…and I did!! They are all very special and thank you for sharing them with me!!

What a great list. I know – I had trouble narrowing my list down too – there was so much more that I wanted to include! As the numbers are getting smaller, it’s so much harder, huh?
LOL, it is getting harder Heidi, but is such fun and a great trip down memory lane. Thank you for the opportunity to share this with you and your readers

I love my Disney Dooney too! They are such great bags! Love the list:) Great picks!
Thank you!! I hope to add to my Disney Dooney “collection” some day, but it will not be any time soon, sadly
Oh well, I have my other great souvies to keep me happy!!

I have a dooney & burke bag and it’s my favorite. I bought it when the exchange rates were really good but even then I paid almost $400 for it but I fell in love and had to have it.
