One of my long standing passions has been the Disney Moms Panel. It was first introduced to the, ah, world, in September 2007 and it is now in it’s fifth year! This wonderful panel is comprised of Disney lovers like myself, who have a little bit of knowledge of the Mouse and his house and they love to share it with anyone who will listen! This panel is not easy to become a part of unfortunately, much to the chagrin of many a broken heart, mine included. 🙁 Thousands of Mickey Moms ( and dads, and aunts, and grandfathers and so on) apply each September, but only a few are chosen.
Over the past two years I have been privileged to become friends with and get to know many of the panelists, mostly on line. Shocking I know, in this day and age, but still very rewarding. 🙂 This past December, when Emily and I traveled to Disney World for our second Mommy and Me trip, we were super excited to meet some of these wonderful Moms and we even got a couple of photos. Now I must admit that with all of my curiosity, I forgot to keep on taking photos, so I only a have a few, but I wanted to share them here.
In this photo Emily is posing with the lovely Kay and Kaylene! These two ladies have logged over a thousand plus answers each on the panel and have an extensive knowledge base. It was real thrill for me ( yeah, I know I am a geek 🙂 ) to meet Kaylene as she was the first Moms Panelist I became friends with in 2010.
This is Bernie and believe it or not, he was the second Moms Panelist I met back in 2010. And he is living proof that men do serve on the Moms Panel 🙂 Kay,Bernie and Kaylene have been honoring followers of the panel with their smart and savvy answers for awhile now and they were at Disney World this past December to meet the newest panel members. The next photo is of one of those lucky few chosen to represent the panel for 2012 and she just so happens to be an awesome friend of mine. This is Kim and she has become a cherished friend to Emily and I. It was such a great honor to meet Kim in person and spend some time with her over the next few days.
Emily and Kim became fast friends and it was great to see this happen. As our paths continue to cross we hope to make Disney memories with the rest of our families down the road. Stay tuned and maybe, with some faith, trust and pixie dust, yours truly will be a member of the Disney Moms Panel one day soon 🙂
