That’s right folks, Disney has opened up that great big vault of theirs and brought us a spruced up edition of one of my most beloved of all the Disney movies: The Little Mermaid. October 1st will see the official release of this Blu-Ray Combo pack for your little mer-folk to enjoy. It is hard to believe, but The Little Mermaid is now 24 years old! Yup, she was released in 1989 and I have the four lithograph set from The Disney Store to prove it. 🙂 I think the appeal that Ariel and her sea faring friends had to us land lubbers was her innocent pursuit of love and the support of her friends, even if it meant they might lose her…sigh… Okay, where was I? The Diamond Edition has some great bonus features, in true Disney style and I think you and the kiddos will enjoy them all! We even have a music video of Carly Rae Jepsen singing “Part Of Your World.” The girl’s got pipes I tell ya. 🙂 For Sebastian fans there is even Crab-E-Oke..
Now I know most people watch Disney movies all the time, right? But for the few who don’t here is a synopsis of The Little Mermaid:
Ariel (voiced by Jodi Benson), is a free-spirited mermaid, who is off on the adventure of a lifetime with her best friend, the adorable Flounder (voiced by Jason Marin), and the reggae-singing Caribbean crab Sebastian (voiced by Samuel E. Wright) at her side. But it will take all of her courage and determination to make her dreams come true—and save her father’s beloved kingdom from the sneaky sea witch Ursula (voiced by Pat Carroll).
Make sure you pick up a copy of Disney’s The Little Mermaid: Diamond Edition before she heads back to the vault!!
Do you have a favorite scene from The Little Mermaid? Mine is when Ariel is trying to get Prince Eric to kiss her and Sebastian sings “Kiss The Girl”. I still get choked up with this one. 🙂

I don’t know for sure but I’m pretty certain that my grandkids have this, they all love Disney movies so it’s a pretty safe bet 🙂
