The year 2015 has not started off with the blogging bang I had planned for technical reasons, so it is catch up time. I had planned to do a recap of 2014, and who knows, I still might, but I did want to share one thing that happened at Christmas that I am super pumped about.Β As you can tell from my wonderfully grainy photo the kids are pretty excited too. π
The big news is that the Rudge family will be heading to our Happy Place soon.Β It is no secret that I LOVE all things Disney and I cherish each of my visits as if it was the only one.Β My lovely pre-teen Emily has been very fortunate to visit Disney World on several occasions, even going more then her Dad! I have had a couple of opportunities to take Emily with just me, a mama and daughter trip and we had a blast each time! (you need only check out all these great Wordless Wednesday posts to see what I mean π )But one thing has been missing and that is the chance to take young William. πΒ Finally, the opportunity is here.Β I am thrilled for William to meet Mickey Mouse in his natural habitat! The excitement level has been kicked up a notch, let me tell you.
I hope to share some of our planning, prepping and primping before the trip and you will most definitely be hearing from me after.Β If there is anything special you would like for me to share, just let me know!Β In all of my planning a key area to focus on has been William’s food allergies and a new monkey wrench of sorts.Β On this trip I will be using a walker.Β I feel almost a little silly mentioning it, but my arthritis has become a game changer.Β I thought I would be able to manage without assistance, but I can’t.Β Pride goes before a fall and I do not want to wreck this very special trip because of how I perceive I will look using a walker to get around.
Thank you for indulging me as I share this wonderful and exciting news!Β Remember to let me know if there is anything in particular you want to hear about, see or learn as I wrap up our plans.Β
Have you ever been to a Disney park before? If not, would you want to visit?

This is SO exciting! I can’t wait to hear more about your trip! My one and only Disney visit was when I was 5 years old and when I saw Mickey for the first time I went running through the crowds like a crazy kid and threw my arms around him!
MapleMouseMama says
I love that reaction Vanessa, that is perfect! Heck, I might just do that now, LOL π

William must be so excited!!!
I love Disney – I’m a Disney fiend but I haven’t been since I was 7. I still have fond memories.

He is Randa! Your little guy is the perfect age to start planning a trip! Let me know if you need any help π

I visited Disney World when I was about 5 and remember having a great time. So much to see. Would love to go again with my daughter although she has been to Disneyland when she was 18 months old, she only remembers it by the pics we have.
MapleMouseMama says
I find that five is a great age to make a first visit Tammy. The memories last and kids can participate in more. But, it is also so great for us parents to enjoy the photos of our kiddos regardless of their age :-0
