I can admit it. I am not ashamed. Well, okay, maybe a little sometimes, but it’s not a crime. At least not in the law breaking way. Lots of people do it. I mean millions do it, everyday, 24 hours a day. Admit it, you eat fast food too. Now, don’t you feel better saying it out loud. I EAT FAST FOOD. Ahhh, so freeing…
All kidding aside fast food is a part of the society we live in and it is not going away. In fact the industry as a whole is thriving with more chain restaurants and coffee shops popping up all over the place. With expanded menus that serve you breakfast all day to staying open 24/7, these fast food places know how to target today’s consumer. Cheap food that is quick and easy to obtain. Heck, you don’t even need to get out of your car to buy it! But when all is said and done food should not be there to shovel in quickly when you are on the run. It should be consumed to nourish your body, feed your mind and if we are lucky, protect our planet.
Luckily Farms & Forks has set out to do just that. This family business works with wonderful local providers from across Ontario to offer you fresh, thoughtfully grown food. From the huge array of vegetables and fruits to the packaged goods that Farms & Forks sells, you will find that most are certified organic. Food the way it was meant to be consumed. It is better for you because there are no pesky pesticides or growth hormones to worry about. And that convenience that we all love to have access to? Farms & Forks has that too! As an organic food delivery service you can place your order online and know exactly when to expect your delivery.
Recently my family and I had the pleasure of trying out the whole Farms & Forks experience. It was super easy and kind of fun to pick out our order in my pajamas. The registration process is simple, but you will want to make sure they deliver to your neighborhood first. Farms & Forks currently delivers all across the GTA, Toronto, Hamilton, Barrie and Oshawa, Ontario. If you are not sure you just enter your postal code here and find out. Deliveries are made during the week between 4pm and 8pm, but rest assured, even if you are not home your order will be delivered.
Our order came packaged in two sturdy cardboard boxes with the produce in one and the packaged goods in the other. The frozen items were packed separately in freezer type bags and they stayed that way! Even the large jar of Kabocha Squash & Sundried Tomato soup, which was in yet another bag, stayed warm! The care taken with just the packaging was indicative of how well the food was made and how great it tasted. We all have to do our part to protect our planet. Farms & Forks produces food that is grown and raised in a way that respects our future.
