Recently I had the opportunity to review the ELPH Band, which has received the PTPA (Parent Tested Parent Approved) Seal of Approval! As a parent the safety of my children is of the utmost importance to me. Regardless of a child’s age, getting separated from your parent or guardian can be a frightening experience, one that is liable to make the child forget important things like their address or phone number. That is where the ELPH Band steps in. ELPH stands for Easy Look up to Phone Home and is very similar to a medical alert bracelet. Even my own son has a medical alert bracelet for his food allergies, but the ELPH Band goes one step further.
That additional step is an important one. The ELPH Band is a link to your identifying information, such as address, parent or guardian cell phone numbers and any other information you deem necessary, including medical conditions or drug allergies. Anything that would help reunite a lost child with their caregiver can be added. I like that I can control just what information I provide and can even pick a safe word for my account. The ELPH Band is a creative way of storing information on your child without it being obvious to a bystander. The band comes with a QR code on it that is unique to the user. If your child was lost the Good Samaritan who finds them need only scan that code into their smart phone which then sends an automatic alert message to the emergency contact and provides them with the GPS location of your child. Alternatively the ELPH Band has a toll-free number on it that, when called, connects directly to the designated emergency contact. You can be reunited with your lost loved one very quickly this way. One of the features I like is that you can update your contact and emergency information at any time. So for example, should you leave your children with another person you can change the ELPH Band information to reflect their contact numbers, emails etc. Perfect for families on the go or for a caregiver who is taking their loved one on an outing.
The ELPH Band is made of strong silicone, but is not bothersome to wear. It is durable enough that even with a child tugging on it the band will hold it’s shape and not fall off. My son and I tested out a black band, but it also comes in other colours. The ELPH lettering is in bright, bold colours so that even though it is not flashy, it will get someone’s attention should it be required. The band can be ordered in one of three sizes. I strongly recommend measuring your child’s wrist before ordering so that you get the correct size band.
Check out the ELPH Band site to see this great, new product for keeping your loved ones safe. At www.elphband.com you can watch an informative video, have all of your questions answered and even read the children’s ELPH story with your kiddos. This will help reinforce the importance of safety. Overall I was very pleased with the ELPH Band. The site was user-friendly and it did not take long to set up an account. For less then twenty dollars you get a full year of peace of mind and ELPH will even send you an email to remind you when your subscription is almost up!

I love that our personal information isn’t plastered on my kids for the world to see but they’re still safe. We’re heading to Disney this summer, so these would be perfect for us!
Exactly Karen! You can even put it on their ankle if you want!
I love the GPS feature and the fact that they are brightly colored and get someones attention!
That is a great feature, good luck!
Wow! that sounds wonderful. Great for Karen and her kids at Disney or for any others visiting Disney.
It is an excellent tool for keeping kids safe 🙂
One of my favourite features is that you can update your contact and emergency information at any time – that flexibility is very important to me because my children are often with different family members, plus we travel a lot and our contact info varies when on the road.
It is a fantastic feature Jennifer, I could not agree more. Good luck!

Excellent! I can understand why parents would be given some peace of mind when their child is wearing one of these bracelets.

I LOVE the bright colours
It is a great feature, good luck!
I love the GPS locator. Gives me piece of mind.
Good choice and good luck!
I like that once scanned by someones smart phone it sends an automatic alert to our phone.
Pretty “smart” isn’t it? Good luck!
GPS location is a great feature!
It really is! Good luck!
LOVE that the info is there when needed but not being shown to the world. Currently I write our phone number on my son’s inner arm in case he gets lost he knows to show someone, but I’m not thrilled that everyone can see it and it doesn’t work so well at water parks, etc
Great way to be creative Karen, but yes I can see that being an issue at a water park 🙁 Good luck!
I love how durable these are! My son is a rough and tumble kid and its great that they will hold up!
It is perfect for him Sabrina 🙂
Looks like a great product. Love the GPS locator feature
Yes, it is pretty amazing Florence, good luck!
I like that the Good Smaritan doesn’t have to access your actual info to contact you if they find the child – it’s nice for them to call but they don’t need to know that much about the child or family.
Excellent feature for sure..
🙂
