As catchy as that tune became, I was not a fan of The Lego Movie. Gasp, I know, right? I am pretty sure I was in the minority though, as every child and adult I know has seen it many times. And sang the song to me, probably in the hopes I would become a convert. It didn’t work, but can you guess what did? A visit to the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre in Toronto! I am serious, folks! This place is awesome (it must be because I have written about it here, here and here).
Most people probably think it is only for children so even if they do take their littles, they will be like me and not approach it with an open mind. Big mistake, trust me. The first time we visited LEGOLAND we were able to meet the Master Builder himself and he gave us the lay of the land. Did you know that they have a movie theatre right inside the Discovery Centre? Yup, it’s true and it plays, wait for it…. 4D movies! With several movies playing to choose from, the LEGOLAND peeps recently added the actual “The Lego Movie 4D, A New Adventure” to the roster. The short 3D films play several times during the day and have 4D effects like wind, water, fog and more, so you feel at one with the action on the screen.
Famous for recreating epic scenes and exciting travel destinations, LEGOLAND has added a LEGO Star Wars Miniland to go along with the amazing one they have of Toronto! Did you know they used over a half a million bricks to bring the Capital City of Ontario to life?! That’s insane and it is a beautiful work of art that you must check out.
LEGOLAND Discovery Centre has the added bonus of offering some child friendly rides to help keep your kiddos in check. The Kingdom Quest Laser Ride is my son’s favourite so you know we have to ride it at least twice when we go. My personal preference is the LEGO Master Builder Academy found right inside the Centre. Spending some time inside gives you the chance to learn new builds and discover LEGO tricks from the Master Model Builders directly! How cool is that?
Have I convinced you yet?
