Having a blue holiday is a bummer, but not when it’s a Bluey Christmas! All the way from down under, I mean Australia, this sweet Blue Heeler pup has made her debut in Canada on Disney Junior, the Disney Channel and Disney+. We all know that Disney loves good quality, wholesome entertainment that the whole family can enjoy and this is exactly what you and your kiddos are getting from Bluey. Come with me to meet Bluey and learn some more about her. 🙂
Who Is Bluey?
What parents want most from their child’s entertainment is to find a show or character that not only makes a connection with the kiddos, but also one that promotes things that align with their own values, like a healthy, normal family life. And that is what they are getting from Bluey. This sweet show is about a family of dogs who live in Brisbane; there is the mama named Chilli, the dad Bandit and their two daughters, Bingo and Bluey who are ages 4 and 6. The show centers around the sisters playing these elaborate games with their parents and their friends and it celebrates the beauty of a child’s imagination.
Bluey loves to come up with new games to play and particularly likes to help everyone choose their roles and decide on the rules. Bluey’s favourite games are ones that involve lots of other kids and grown-ups (especially her dad) and she mainly likes to pretend she’s a grown up doing grownup things herself.Â
I found this great article by Kathryn VanArendonk, who has young children who adore Bluey. Kathryn has become attuned to Bluey and her adventures; the way her children are literally overcome in hysterics at some of Bluey and Bingo’s antics and also how it resonates with her as a parent. You can read her article to learn more about Bluey and see if this adorable show would work for your family.

There are so many children’s shows available to watch nowadays and that makes it hard for parents to find a show that is entertaining for youngsters, yet still speaks to them as adults. Bluey is that one show that you should make time for. You and your little will enjoy it and share a few moments and laughs together. ♥
Do you recall what your favourite program was on tv when you were young? My favourite was Little House on the Prairie. 🙂
