If you had told me five years ago that this little blog I started was going to grow into something much bigger than I could even anticipate, well, I would have said, “Get outta here!” But that is exactly what has happened. Today, August 31st, 2016 marks the fifth blogoversary for MapleMouseMama and I could not be more proud of who she has become. ♥ I guess some of that pride is for myself too. 🙂
When I first set out to start up a blog it was for completely selfish reasons. I wanted to write out some thoughts, share some photos of my kids and definitely bring my love of all things Disney to the world. I never expected that this very part-time hobby would soon become a life long dream come true. Sounds corny maybe, but that is the truth. I love being able to write about what I want, share reviews of things my family loves and chat with my peeps whenever I want. (Gotta love that the internet is open 24/7 🙂 ). MapleMouseMama has also brought me an untold amount of friends from all over the world. That is literally immeasurable. ♥
This little blog o’ mine also helped me realize a dream this year, one that I really felt would never come true for little ole me. That dream? To attend the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration in Disney World. There is so much I have said and will say about this amazing event, but the bottom line for me? It was a massive dream come true. I still get all vaklemp when I think about it.

I can also tell you that writing this blog has helped me in many ways, not the least of which is dealing with anxiety issues and yes, even depression. Those are hard words to write, but because of my place on the ‘net I can do so with a lot more confidence that I could have even a year ago. I am not so afraid anymore. I have also taken on challenges of a physical nature because the blogger in me had a need to know what the outcome would be. It is still a daily struggle to deal with some things, but knowing I can come here and just be myself, well, it is a wonderful feeling. ♥
Lastly, having this blog has given me an opportunity to spend time with my children and husband in a way I would never have thought about. We do things together because of MapleMouseMama. We brainstorm about ideas, we take and share photos of one another and even get to have some great adventures. It is a bonus I didn’t know existed, but am super grateful was there.
I have waxed poetic long enough here (that is another fun bonus: I get to use big words whenever I want 😉 ) and so should sign off. Thank you to everyone for supporting my journey and my little blog. Happy Birthday MapleMouse Mama, happy birthday. ♥♥
