Emily is sick again. Poor baby. It is so far just a cold, but she feels miserable and of course, acts it 🙁 That is pretty much guaranteed to make one or more of us miserable at some point during the day. I know it is not entirely her fault, but she just gets so dramatic when she is not feeling well. At least it is the weekend so I can pamper her a bit and hopefully make her feel better.
I say sick again because just a month ago, on the next to last day of our summer vacation at the cottage, Emily came down with a flu of some sort. We pretty much figure it was from the lake water and all the swimming she did that week. Sounds gross to think about, but the lake(s) are full of bacteria that can make you ill. Fortunately the worst of it was over after 36 hours. She was very ill though. Her fever raged to almost 105 at one point. But I will not dwell as she is fine now.
I guess it is par for the course at this “most wonderful time of the year”! All the kids are back in school, ready to touch everything and anyone who gets near them 🙂 It is in their DNA to spread germs, so we all might as well get used to it. All that hand sanitizer they have in the schools now is a well intentioned effort, but I can imagine a very small amount of kids actually use it. Heck I have one on my desk at work and never remember to use it. I do use a tissue if I sneeze, but I am guilty of not always coughing into my arm. It is kind of a “new” thing to cough into your sleeve, don’t ya think? I mean I really don’t recall it being such a big deal when I was in school, but cough into your hand in front of a bunch of pre schoolers nowadays and they will practically drown you in sanitizer and withering stares.
Now although I am not a huge fan of hand sanitizer I am a big believer in wipes. You know, the kind you use to clean a baby’s bottom? These are a must for me to carry with me. They are for sure in my diaper bag with William’s supplies, but I also keep some at work and in my purse. Cause you just never know. We took the kids to the local park yesterday to feed the ducks and gold fish. They never touched them, but we did sit on the ground right at the water’s edge. There were untold nastie’s all around us, but it was unavoidable if we wanted to feed the ducks and fish. 🙂 It’s funny how your kids pick up your habits. William is very aware of when he should clean something with a wipe. Almost to a fault. He is not stingy with the wipes when he gets his hands on them!!
Well, nothing terribly creative tonight, just a day in the life of me 🙂 Sleep well and enjoy the rest of the weekend 🙂

Like I said on facebook, sorry to hear that Emily has the cold. Has William been okay so far. You know that he is probably going to get it,eh?! Pamper her this weekend and hope it is enough to have her go to school next week.
Have a good night, hope they both sleep for you.
Talk later.
