The new Disney*Pixar hit, Cars 3, rolled into theatres a few days ago and it has already become a box office smash! Not that I am surprised or anything. When Disney and/or Pixar touches something it instantly turns to gold. And rightfully so. When the first Cars movie came out in 2006 I remember thinking it would be more for boys and that my own little girl would not be interested in it. Boy, was I wrong. And not just about her. I loved the movie! ♥ I think Mater was the main reason, although the amazing computer animation and story line sure did help.
It did not take long for us to count Cars as a family favourite and when the sequel, Cars 2 was released in 2011 it joined the ranks. I could not help being impressed with the improved graphics, but again, the story line captured my heart. My son was old enough then to be equally impressed and I can still remember giving him his first Mater and Lightning McQueen toys to play with. Years later they have a special place on his shelf of beloved toys.
And now we have Cars 3 to watch and bring the magic back to life! I know this one will be enjoyed over and over again, as much as the first two.
