Short, but sweet post. I just have to share this while it is fresh in my mind. Last night I was talking to William, three and a half year old William and I asked him what he would like for Santa to bring him for Christmas. His reply was a snowboard. When I asked him if he knew what you do with a snowboard he promptly climbed up on the bed and started to do a balancing motion, like he was snowboarding! OMGoodness, I laughed 🙂 He really knew what to do with a snowboard!
Next I asked Emily what she would like from Santa. She launched into a detailed and animated description of the bow and arrow set that they have at the Disney Store from Disney’s movie Brave. Emily wants to be like Merida. 🙂
William’s immediate response to that was, “Hey, you can’t say that! I saw it first!!” I nearly passed out from laughing. Then when Emily said that it was not what he wanted he got really angry and started to rant that a bow and arrow were not “girlie” toys and only boys should have them! Then he told Emily, his much older sister, that she should ask Santa for stuff for her “dollies” because that’s what girls play with. Oh my word, it was funny. William was so adamant that she not get a bow and arrow! I tried to explain that girls can play with the same things as boys, but he was not having any of it.. Too much..
I love you my sweet Merida and Snowboarder. <3

Oh how I can picture that conversation! I babysit a 3yo who tries to tell my 9yo similar things all the time. Love the Merida bow set though. I think my 9yo would love to have it too. Between Brave and Hunger Games the last archery class my 9yoDD took was 8 girls and 2 boys.

LOL, that is so cute Tia 🙂 It is amazing how the popularity of a sport can really pick up because of a movie or books! But to have all those girls to, I love it!! Thank you for sharing your sweet story with me 🙂

This is really funny and so tell me, did they get what they wanted ? My next question is, now that it’s 5 years later is William a snow boarder and does Emily shoot a bow & arrow ?
