Introducing Zoey, the newest member of the Rudge household! Zoey is a Maplelea Friend doll, part of the beautiful collection of dolls known as Maplelea Girls. This wonderful assortment of dolls comes from Avonlea Traditions, a Canadian owned and operated company. The Maplelea Girls were created to be “an inspiration to and a reflection of, Canadian girls from coast to coast.” Have a look at their website here and check out the incredible array of dolls that you can bring home! There are six beautiful Maplelea Girls to choose from, each one representing a different part of Canada and each doll comes with her own journal. These journals house the doll’s story and provide an area for your daughter, niece, sister, grandchild etc, to share her own story to. 🙂
Avonlea Traditions has introduced a new line of dolls and they are called Maplelea Friends! As you might have guessed these new dolls, all twelve of them, were designed to allow the young lady in your life to choose a doll that either resembles her or maybe looks like her BFF! Your Maplelea Friend comes with a blank journal (almost) so that you get to create her story. The possibilities are endless. 🙂 Just imagine your child putting her imagination to work writing her new friend’s story! I really love this concept and my daughter Emily is just thrilled to write and share Zoey’s story with you. 🙂 Follow along with us over the next couple of weeks as we share some of Zoey’s story and maybe a bit more about Maplelea Girls as well.
Here comes the best part! Our friends at Avonlea Traditions have partnered with MapleMouseMama to offer my readers a GIVEAWAY! How exciting is that?! I can tell you I was honestly blown away at this opportunity and I am super happy to be sharing it with you!! Can you guess what that giveaway is? One lucky Canadian reader will get the chance to choose a Maplelea Friend of their very own!!! You are reading that correctly my friends ( pun intended 🙂 ). We will choose one reader and they will get to pick from the twelve new Maplelea Friends! Isn’t this exciting?!! It feels like Christmas has come a little early this year. 🙂
In order to qualify for the giveaway there are a few things you must do:
1) First and foremost I would like you to leave a comment on any blog post about Maplelea Girls, Maplelea Friends or Zoey’s journey as a Rudge family member. In that comment tell us who you would share a new Maplelea Friend with. Get creative and share a possible new name! Check out all twelve new Maplelea Friends and tell us which one you would choose. It’s up to you. Please be sure to leave your name and check back often. Every comment will count as another entry. The giveaway will run from October 22nd 2012 until November 10th, 2012, with a winner being announced here on MapleMouseMama on November 12th 2012!
2) Second, “LIKE” Maplelea Girls on Facebook here and make sure to tell them MapleMouseMama sent ya. 🙂 You can also follow Maplelea Girls on Twitter here.
3) Lastly, “LIKE” MapleMouseMama on Facebook here.
**** I am so excited to bring this great opportunity to my readers, but please note that this giveaway is only open to Canadian residents. I welcome all comments, but we can only award one Canadian winner the prize of a brand new Maplelea Friend doll. Thank you for taking the time to check out Maplelea Girls and all they have to offer a young lady in your life.

I have shared and told my friends that if they win they have to name their friend after me lol. If I win I would have to pick a blue eyed friend to give to one of my favorite little girls, one who would let me come play with her and her Maplelea doll named Farrah when ever I wanted. Lol. Can’t wait to hear about Zoeys adventures from my favorite little blogger in the making! Xoxoxo
MapleMouseMama says
LOL, love that Farrah, you SHOULD have a doll named after you 🙂 Good luck in the contest Farrah and thanks for entering. I appreciate it and you <3 Emily is so looking forward to sharing Zoey's adventures with you!!

I love these dolls!!! My daughter has one that Santa brought her last year and she loves her. Sydney has the Jenna doll…with glasses! As Sydney is a red head who wears glasses, she feels like Jenna is her twin!!
I would love to see a boy Maplelea doll, as Sydney’s 4 year old brother Troy always tries to take her’s. And if a boy doll is not possible, maybe we could name one of the girl dolls “Troyina”….just saying!!
Keep up the fantastic work!!!
MapleMouseMama says
LOL, Troyina 🙂 But I think you are right Brenda, a boy doll would be a great idea! Can I ask that you share that idea on the Maplelea Girls Facebook page and tell them that MapleMouseMama sent you? I think they would love it to!
I love how Sydney feels like Jenna is her twin 🙂 She will always have her doll BFF to make her feel safe..
Good luck in the giveaway and thanks for playing along!

I just discovered this site and I am so excited! We love everything Disney – and dolls!
I have three amazing little girls who LOVE Maplelea! My first exposure to these dolls was when my oldest daughter Makayla came home with the Maplelea catalogue from the school library. She actually slept with the catalogue every night! Now my middle daughter Alana is also obsessed! LOL!
My youngest daughter Emma is just starting to get into dolls and acting the ‘Mama’…so, if a Maplelea Friend came to live here with my girls, I would name her Makalem – the combination of the first two/three letters of my girls names!
MapleMouseMama says
I love this Caroline, perfect name! Now the trick would be to choose the doll that best combines the features of all of your three princesses!! Or, you could pick one that is the complete opposite 🙂 How sweet that your oldest slept with the catalogue <3 My Emily is much the same in her quest to dog ear every page of the catalogue, each time they come in, LOL!
Thanks for sharing Caroline! Good luck with the giveaway and be sure to check back soon as we post about Zoey's life in the Rudge household!! Remember, every new post gets you another entry!

Caroline MacKinnon says
It would be so hard to choose which doll, but if I were to pick one that would resemble my girls it would be the Maplelea Friend with long layered blonde hair, light skin and brown eyes. Two of my girls have blonde hair and the other has brown eyes. If I were to choose one that was completely different I would choose the Maplelea Friend with shoulder length dark brown hair, medium-light skin, brown almond-shaped eyes (my father is in China right now working!).
I can’t wait to see more about Zoey and her adventures! These dolls are great! Emily must be so excited!
MapleMouseMama says
Awesome choices Caroline and I love your reasons. How sweet to incorporate your daughters 🙂 I think having a doll that is the complete opposite of you or your daughters is also pretty cool. Gives them an opportunity to learn about a new culture, a different way of life..
Stay tuned for Zoey’s adventure at Emily’s swimming lessons!

Hi Suzanne, This is Mary Beth’s daughter Katie. I have always loved the Maplelea Dolls but never got the chance to get one. I think I am now too old for dolls, but in my Dance Team I have been paired up with a younger dancer who is 6. Her name is Cammi and I think this doll would be a great present for me to give to her. I have always liked to write in notebooks and journals, and I think it would be great if Cammi could take her new friend to Dance competitions and write down their adventures.
MapleMouseMama says
Hi Katie! I am so happy you have entered and I think your idea of what to do with the doll if you win is a fantastic one! What a great way to share and give back and I am sure Cammi would love a Maplelea Friend doll. I agree with you; the journals are a really great way to put down your thoughts ( kind of like my blog 🙂 ) and for Cammi to share her dance adventures in this way would be sweet! Thanks for entering and good luck!!

Heather says
The dolls are sweet! Can I make a suggestion? Seeing that the dolls are supposed to represent girls from all across Canada it would be great to see a doll with curly blonde hair and a doll with short hair. I think Saila is my favorite doll. They are all adorable:)
MapleMouseMama says
LOL, love the idea Heather 🙂 and I agree with you. I think a doll with short hair would appeal to a wide range of young ladies. They do have a shorter length version, but I think having a few more options would go a long way. Perhaps as the Maplelea Friends take off the Avonlea Traditions company will explore more ideas for next year! Can I make a suggestion that you share this idea with Maplelea Girls on their website http://www.maplelea.com/en/about-us/Contact-Us.aspx? Make sure to tell them that MapleMouseMama sent ya 🙂 Good luck on the contest!!

I have been a big fan of your blog from the very beginning. I love the charm and humour you inject in your writing coupled with interesting subject matter. You can’t imagine my delight on learning you were hosting this fabulous giveaway. If I were to win the doll I would name it Hope and I would give the doll to Birthright in Brampton with instructions to give it a mother of a deserving little girl or boy to give as Christmas present. Hopefully making their Christmas as special as this beautifully crafted doll is. The Birthright center supports single and married pregnant mothers with things like baby clothing to housing to just a caring shoulder to lean on. I can think of no better place for this doll. I know Maplemousemama is big on giving and long on caring.
If I might take moment to say Maplelea should snap you up as spokeswoman now before you blog goes viral. Just good business on their part. Just saying.
Thank you MapleMouseMama!!!!
MapleMouseMama says
Thank you so much for the kind words Speedking, I really appreciate the encouragement. I think your idea to donate the doll is a wonderful idea! How sweet 🙂 Birthright is a very worthy cause and I can just imagine how happy a Maplelea doll would make one of their patrons. Thanks for entering and good luck in the giveaway!

I’ve been trying to decide which Maplelea friend my 6-year-old would like best– I think the long-haired brunette with blue-grey eyes.
MapleMouseMama says
Great choice Dana! I love that girls can pick one to look like themselves or anyone else they choose! The original Maplelea Girls are still pretty unique, but choice is always good 🙂 Good luck and thank you for entering!

Michelle DeBattista says
How do you pick just one?! I couldn’t even think about picking a name, my DD would have her own opinion, lol. I’ve shared and good luck to everyone!
MapleMouseMama says
It is a tough call Michelle, I agree! Maybe she would like a doll that was her twin? And yes the name can be a touchy subject for sure. My Emily changed her mind at least twice before settling on Zoey, LOL 🙂
Thank you for entering and good luck!

Gemma says
MapleMouseMamma, after all this ‘talk’ about Maplelea Friends, I think I’ll buy one of these dolls for myself!! And I’ll call her Julia. 33 years ago, it would have been “Ashleigh”, but now there are so many “Ashley’s”. I like the one with the blue/grey eyes, and long brown hair. My fingers are crossed! Thanks for the opportunity! If I won, I think I would ask a certain Ms. E. if she would help me to decide to whom we would give the doll.and then we could present it to the lucky little girl together. Maybe a child in a foster home connected with the CCAS, or CAS? Maybe? Good Luck, MMM! 🙂
MapleMouseMama says
Awesome idea Gemma! I love it!! The doll with the blue/grey eyes is lovely and I am so impressed that Maplelea is keeping up with the times and offering a more diverse looking group of dolls. And I like your name selection, but either is pretty 🙂 Good luck and thank you for entering!!

These dolls are cute. I like the Long medium blond hair, light skin, blue eyes. If I won i would give it to my Granddaughter. I am sure she would love the Maplelea friend. Maybe we can let her decide on a name.
MapleMouseMama says
Great choice Florence! My daughter was partial to the long blond hair to 🙂 The great thing about the journal that comes with each doll is the ablibity to write her own story and I agree with you that choosing her name should be a part of that 🙂
Thanks for entering and good luck!

My daughter just turned 12 and would love Jenna. She may seem a little old for a doll, but personally I don’t think you ever are. My nieces all have American Girls, and I would love my daughter to have a doll that represents this great country we live in, and looks like her too. And if she were to get a MapleLea Friends, I know it would be the blond haired, blue eyed one and she’d name it Shaelen after her best friend. Thank you for this opportunity.
MapleMouseMama says
I agree Laurel, you are never too old for dolls! My own love of dolls led me to Maplelea a few years ago and I really like this new option to pick a doll that looks how you want it to. What a pretty name to, Shaelen 🙂
Thank you for entering and good luck!!

If I was to win this doll, I would give it to my sister kayla because she already has a doll, that needs a new friend!! The new friend I would pick would be the doll with the blue eyes and curly hair. 🙂 My sisters doll needs a new companion, and this give away would be the perfect surprise!

Hi there, My daughter so very much wants one of these dolls. We had ordered a catalog about a year ago and she had looked through it so much that t had fallen apart on her, she had even taken it to bed with her numerous times. She still continues to dream and dream about having her own doll. We convinced her that we would order a new catalog about a month ago so that we could finally get rid of the one that was falling apart. So we went online and ordered it hoping it would come within a week or two. So far it has not come..and I have a heart broken kid. Every morning she gets up and checks the website. She has been working hard to raise enough money to buy her own Maplelea doll. We should have enough money with a week or two for her to order her first doll. She would be over the moon if she didn’t have to spend all of her hard earned money to buy herself the doll.
I personally lobe the fact these dolls are made here in Canada for true Canadian girls. 🙂
MapleMouseMama says
Wow, your duaghter really does love Maplelea LeeAnne! She sounds like my daughter, where the catalog is dog eared from being looked at so much. I am sorry that a new one has not arrived yet. I would suggest that since it has been a month already you might want to call their toll free number 1-800-668-4339, to get a new one.
Good luck with the contest and thank you for entering!

I should also note that my daughter really wants Leoni. as this is the one that looks the most like her. She sways day to day with which outfits she wants to get for her. I guess it depends on what her dream from the night before was about.
MapleMouseMama says
LOL, that is so typical of her age 🙂 My daughter has a list a mile long and it changes often to 🙂

My daughter has asked for years for an American Girl and it’s wonderful to see the truly Canadian adventures of these dolls.
MapleMouseMama says
Mike, the AG dolls are lovely, almost as much as the Maplelea dolls 🙂 I think it is great that the Canadian bent is there though and even more so now that with the Maplelea Friends your princess can write her own story to go along with her new friend 🙂
Good luck and thank you for entering!
