My First @Influenster VoxBox & It Smells Great!

February 11, 2014 By: MapleMouseMama35 Comments

Sweet smelling samples I received from Influenster to try out!

Sweet smelling samples I received from Influenster to try out!

I recently received my first VoxBox from Influenster and I am kind of excited about it!  Influenster sends out products for regular folk to try out and share their results via social media.  This sweet little package arrived and inside I found a sample bottle of shampoo, conditioner and split-end serum.  The first thing I noticed was the smell. Oh my, it was heavenly.  The kind of smell that makes you prolong your shower so you can keep on breathing deep. 🙂  The idea behind the VoxBox this time was to try out the samples and then try to guess which L’Oreal Canada product this really was.  We will find out soon exactly what the #MysteryBrand is when we receive full size bottles of the product!!

I have never been super loyal to one brand of shampoo and conditioner.  I tend to buy what is on sale and use it for awhile, but I do make sure to get the stuff that is good for damaged hair.  In the past year or so I have tried out a few products to help with my daughter’s hair.  Although it has never been coloured, it does have damage from swimming and also from sleeping in a ponytail.  So we put our #MysteryBrand to the test!

I like the shampoo.  I always do two washes each time. I found the results predictable, but not unpleasant.  My hair felt clean when I was done and not as coarse as it has been in the past.  The conditioner was lovely!  Both products smelled great and the conditioner allowed me to comb through my hair without any trouble.  I find as I get older that even after washing my hair, despite being short, it gets tangled really easily!  After several uses of my #MysteryBrand it was still not a chore to comb out my hair after.  My daughter had the same results which is high praise.

The real test was the split-end serum.  I personally did not notice a difference, but my hair was recently cut and coloured so it looks and feels good.  Emily however, has major split-ends.  She is overdue for a cut.  While the serum added a healthier look to her hair it could not provide complete relief from the split ends.  Only a cut will do that, but her hair felt and looked stronger.  We will definitely keep up this regime after she has it cut.

My guess for what the #MysteryBrand is.....

My guess for what the #MysteryBrand is…..

It won’t be long now before we find out what our #MysteryBrand is, but based on the description we received and the results we achieved from our test run, I think this Mystery Brand will be Garnier Fructis Damage Eraser.  Make sure you check back to see if I am right. 🙂

What products do you use to take care of your hair?

I use pretty much anything designed for thick curly hair. I especially love the Macadamia Natural Oil line, but they can be pretty expensive.

Karen you just need to sign up with Influenster and if you qualify they will include you in a test. You don’t pay to belong to it. Good luck!

Influenster seems like such a great thing to try. I must admit that I’m committed to one shampoo. Have been using it since college. It’s Creme of Nature and always leave my hair feeling silky and clean. #SITSBlogging

I was really curious about that split end treatment product. I always find those products interesting because I questioned if they could really cure you or if you should just snip it off. In the end I think snipping is the way to go. Thanks for the great feature! Visiting from #SITSBlogging

I think it depends on how bad the split is Jonesy. My daughter definitely needs her hair trimmed, but I think we will use it after that to keep the hair from getting damaged again..

Ooh I want to find out too what it is! You said it smelled sooo good. Now most shampoos smell good anyway. But they’re still–you know–shampoos. You know it’s shampoo smell no matter how good it smelled. The fragrance I want is one that sticks in your hair (like something fruity or floral)–something like when you see in a movie and the lead guy remembers or can’t get over your hair scent. Problem is, shampoos with good scents don’t really feel good on my hair so i have to offset it with a lot of conditioner (which kind of defeats the purpose). So maybe I should find a conditioner instead that has an exceptionally good scent. hehe

Hi Serahe, I am glad you enjoyed the post. There is no link for Influenster however as they do not provide one for this type of review. You can always check out their website though and see if you would be a good fit for the program..
