My Magical Moment: August 2013

This is coming a little late in the month, but I figure that is a good thing.  Late means I have been busy and busy means, hopefully, only good things.  While the first part of September has been flying by fortunately the summer did not.  At least not from my perspective.  August of 2013 brought me some great times with my family and some amazing opportunities for MapleMouseMama.  I hope you will enjoy hearing a bit about them as much as I enjoyed experiencing them. 🙂

First and foremost my husband, kids and I had a week to ourselves.  There was no where we had to be, we were free to make our own schedule.  We chose to do some day trips, take the kids to places they had not been before.  We first visited the ROM, which is the Royal Ontario Museum.  This lovely institution is massive in size and requires a lot of time and patience to get through.  We had the time, but got a little short on the patience, so we did not visit every floor.  More for another visit. We also made a trip to The Toronto Zoo, which is a family favorite, although it was pretty chilly that day.  My favorite part of the day was seeing the white lions.  I think I took a hundred photos!  They were beautiful and Emily and I bonded over them. 🙂  The week held lots more for us, but the big thrill for the kids was going to Canada’s Wonderland.  Now my fellow Disney fans are probably aghast at that, but nothing  will take the place of Disney World in my heart.  Canada’s Wonderland was a great day for all of us with the rides, the water park and light show at the end.  I was truly happy to have this time with my family.

August was chockablock full for me, but three things stand out as magical and they are all related to my blog.  The first was being invited to attend an advanced screening of Disney’s PLANES in Toronto!  I was able to bring my hubby and kids and we had a great time.   You may recall from the review I did on the first screening I attended that I was a little giddy about having reserved seats for the press.  Well let me tell you, that never gets old. 😉 

The next great moment was being invited to become a part of #TeamChicky and the #CAARewards Spot the Partner Challenge.  I joined a team of five other women and we have been working our butts off in the challenge.  I have been honored to work with these ladies and so look forward to meeting them in person next month.  As an added bonus there is a giveaway that is still going on to promote this challenge we participated in.  That means I can offer some magic to ya’all. 🙂  Just click HERE, read the blog post on my team captain’s blog, leave a comment and enter via the Rafflecopter widget!  Want to know the prize?  It’s an iPad Mini!  Sweet, huh?

 

My third blog related magical moment was yet another first.  MapleMouseMama was invited to attend a launch party for a new television series in downtown Toronto!!  What a spectacular day that was.  I was again able to bring the whole family and the launch was held by Corus Entertainment.  The series being launched was near and dear to my heart because my oldest, ten year old Emily, grew up on the original.  She was able to meet the stars of yesteryear and the stars of tomorrow from the “This Is…” franchise.  The day was full of activities, food, entertainment and interviews.  I was provided time to chat with the kids in the show and I wrote a review on it for my host Canadian Blog House.  You can read my review HERE.
