I developed arthritis as the result of an injury I had when I was about fifteen. While long distance bike riding I pulled “something” in my groin and hip areas. This lead to a summer of physiotherapy, walking around on crutches and eventually a cane. By the following summer I was healed, felt great and did not need the cane. Life went on. Over time I started to notice a little ache that would develop in my upper left thigh. It seemed to come and go, but the intensity grew with each birthday. Things I used to take for granted, like sitting cross legged, became uncomfortable and I noticed that I was losing flexibility as well. In hindsight I wish I had treated these symptoms with the same respect I treat them now. The big difference is now they are far worse.
I know a lot of people who have arthritis with varying degrees of pain. Everyone seems to have their own ways of dealing with the pain. I have one friend who uses a cooling gel for her arthritic knee while another lathers her hands in a medicated lotion with a powerful uh, scent. I have a heating pad right beside my bed for nights when the day has just been a little too long. Some people have prescription medications to help ease the pain. Often times though these remedies are not enough. That is when I reach for my Tylenol Arthritis. I have hesitated to go on a prescription medication for a variety of reasons. I know that some “heavy duty” pain medications can cause problems with kidney function and I really do not want to add that to the list of what ails me. It is comforting to know that Tylenol Arthritis is kind to my kidneys and my tummy at the same time. My doctor even suggested I use Tylenol Arthritis because it will not interfere with my blood pressure medication. These are all really important reasons for me to choose Tylenol Arthritis when my options are to suffer on the sidelines or get out and play with my kids.
When I think back on how arthritis has affected my life it saddens me to think how I have, on many occasions, given in to the pain and limitations it brings. Sometimes it is easier to wave the white flag of surrender then to admit when you need help.
One event that stands out for me was when my son went on his first class trip and they asked for volunteers to go along. I had done this with my daughter, but I was too afraid of the pain I would for sure be in to sign up with William’s class. I knew that the bus stairs, the walking and the standing around at the venue would be unbearable. So, I didn’t go. I know that my son was not scarred for life by my decision, but I think I was. Fast forward to this past summer. Arthritis has been a constant companion, but I had promised to take my daughter to see the One Direction concert in Toronto. I wanted to go, but I was scared. I mean really scared. But I knew what this concert meant to Emily, and to me, so I sucked it up and I purchased a cane. A proper one with four prongs to give me balance. And I took my Tylenol Arthritis. Have you ever been to the Rogers Centre in Toronto? There are a lot of stairs. The first ones that I encountered nearly did me in, but I did it. Emily and I went on to have the best night of our lives! Even just to share it now I am filled with emotion. I was not completely pain free, but it was manageable. Using my Tylenol Arthritis gave me the confidence to accept the challenge of going to a concert in a huge venue and, I even danced a little too.
Do you, or someone you know, suffer from arthritis? What sort of remedies do you/they use to feel better?

shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the
