Yup folks, we are talking teeth today. Or rather tooth care. If you know my dental history then you know this is very scary territory for me. I recently posted about Trigeminal Neuralgia and my battle with it many years ago. That time in my life left me with scars, both physical and mental, but it also left me with some yucky teeth. Now I am not naive enough to blame all of my dental woes on TN, but I can blame much of them, thank you very much! So when the opportunity presented itself to try out the new Philips Sonicare FlexCare Platinum I was thrilled! I am very good at taking care of my teeth, but anything to make it easier, with the hopes of better results then I seem to be able to get, is worth it’s weight in gold ( and not gold filled teeth either).
For the next 14 days I am going to use this awesome toothbrush and then check back in with you and share my results. To pique your curiosity let me share some of the cool features of the Philips Sonicare FlexCare Platinum:
NEW InterCare Brush Head provides exceptional interdental cleaning and gum care, with bristles that are designed to perform specific tasks:
- Light green bristles reach between teeth to remove plaque
- Dark green bristles gently and effectively remove plaque along the gum line
- White bristles polish and clean tooth surface
- Blue reminder bristles fade when a replacement is needed
Customized Brushing System includes a total of nine possible personalized brushing experiences:
- 3 Brushing Modes:
- Clean – the ultimate in plaque removal
- White – 2 minutes of whitening mode to remove surface stains and 30 seconds to brighten and polish front teeth
- GumCare – combines 2 minutes of Clean mode plus 1 minute of gentle gum massage to improve gum health
- 3 Intensity Level Settings: Low (for sensitive areas), medium, high.
- Pressure Sensor automatically alerts you when you’re brushing too hard; designed to be simple and intuitive
My breakfast has been consumed and my coffee and tea ( it was a rough morning) have been drained, so guess what time it is?! Time to test out my new Philips Sonicare FlexCare Platinum rechargeable toothbrush and get on with my day. Please check back with me as I will be sharing my experience with you soon.
Do you already use a rechargeable toothbrush? How long have you been doing so?

We have an Oral B electric toothbrush and I like it well enough, but I don’t love the shape of the heads. This toothbrush looks more like what I’d like to use and I lOVE how the toothbrush heads are kept safe when not in use – no contamination issues.
MapleMouseMama says
Ashely I think one of the best features is the UV Sanitizing part to clean the brush heads. Ingenious!

Ever since I started using all-natural toothpaste I’ve thought about getting an electric toothbrush to do a better job of cleaning my teeth (since, obviously, all those chemicals aren’t being used anymore). I like the look of this one… especially the “whitening” mode – very cool! I just may have to check it out. I’ll check out your upcoming post once you’ve had a chance to use it for awhile.

Organic toothpaste? I never knew… I think that would probably be a great fit with the Philips Sonicare FlexCare Platinum Lisa. SO far I am loving how my teeth feel. I will keep you posted!

I am a bit late in replying, so I wonder how things are going for you, Suz, with the new toothbrush? Strangely enough, I have not purchased an electric toothbrush because I thought it was just a little too much ‘action’ in my mouth for someone who may be set to develop[ TN at a more advanced age. You know ‘an invasive dental procedure’ may trigger it, so I wondered about electric tooth brushes? Any comment on that end of it?
MapleMouseMama says
Thanks for stopping in Gem! I to have worried and wondered about an electric toothbrush and the TN. I mentioned it to my dentist before and he said that it should be perfectly fine and would actually help me reclaim the teeth I once had. So, I am going to trust in this advice and hope it is right, LOL. I will let you know how it goes!

I’ve been using an electric toothbrush for years and love it. I hate having my teeth cleaned at the dentist. Seriously hate. And I have good teeth. I just have low tolerance for sharp objects in my mouth 😉 An electric toothbrush can make a huge difference!
MapleMouseMama says
I am slowly realizing just what a great difference it can be Shanya, in a good way!
