Sands AliveNo one dislikes messy toys more than me. Seriously.  So when I first learned about Sands Alive I was nervous.  Sand is messy, right?  Well yes, the traditional sand that we build castles in at the beach is messy and sticks to your skin and itches and carries germs. A big YUCK from me. Thank the stars Sands Alive is not like traditional sand at all. In fact it is way better!

My kiddos and I recently got to experience Sands Alive first hand and the verdict was unanimous. We loved it! Usually when the kids try something new I hang back and watch, but that is just not possible with Sands Alive.  This stuff is soft and cool to the touch and I just wanted to run my fingers through it for hours… Sorry, I am getting carried away here. I have to remember: kids toy, not mama toy…

sands alivesands aliveSands Alive is one of those toys your kids will not grow tired of. Mine have played with it many times since we first cracked the box and my day care provider is now the proud owner of her own Sands Alive.  She has my children to thank for their non stop praise of this great toy.  There is so much you can do with your Sands Alive kit because it comes with tons of tools and molds.  The creative thinkers at Incredible Novelties Inc were thinking like a parent when they included a tray to keep the sand in so it does not get everywhere. ( You can’t say that about a certain clay like substance that sounds like “clay-show”) but I digress.

Aside from the hours of fun your kids will have making sculptures and creating landscapes for their little cars to drive over, Sands Alive is a safe and natural product you can feel good about. The natural, non toxic and organic ingredients create a compound agent that binds together to create an environment in which it is not physically possible for bacteria to grow! Everyone wins when germs are given the boot, right?

Plus Sands Alive:

  • will never dry out
  • is non toxic
  • is completely bacteria free
  • is soft to the touch ( I swear it feels like silk)
  • has an educational component
  • is easy to mold
  • it will hold it’s shape

Sands Alive is available at your local independent toy store or can be found at the following national retailers:

Indigo Books and Music *  Chapters *  Mastermind Toys * Scholar’s Choice * Toy R Us * Showcase As Seen on TV Stores * Home Hardware * Co-Op * Pharmasave PharmaChoice * Calendar Club * The North West Company

Make sure you check out Sands Alive on Facebook.  See what everyone thinks on Twitter with #SandsAlive. While you are there make sure to congratulate Sands Alive on recently earning the Parent Tested Parent Approved Seal of Approval!  That is quite the honor and well deserved!

What would you make with a Sands Alive kit?

I have been unsure about this too as I don’t like messy toys either. I’m glad to hear it’s not as bad as I was worried about and now I really want to feel the silky feeling you described!

My son is obsessed with this. We don’t have it but our local toy store does and he always insists on stopping by and playing with it. His birthday is coming up and this is definitely on his list of gifts. It’ll be perfect for the upcoming cold winter months where we spend too much time indoors.

My kids would have so much fun with this! Perfect indoor play over the cold months. I will totally check out the Sands Alive kit for them. I think they would build a mermaid! 🙂
