Are you as excited as I am for the soon to be released “CINDERELLA” Disney’s latest version of the classic love story? It is set to hit theatres in less than two weeks, on March 13th and one lucky MapleMouseMama reader will get to attend an advance screening in downtown Toronto. Raise your glass slippers high if you want in on this action!!
This blockbuster movie follows along with the beloved tale we all know and love, but just in case you need a refresher:
“The story of “Cinderella” follows the fortunes of young Ella (Lily James) whose merchant father remarries following the death of her mother. Eager to support her loving father, Ella welcomes her new Stepmother (Cate Blanchett) and her daughters Anastasia (Holliday Grainger) and Drisella (Sophie McShera) into the family home. But, when Ella’s father unexpectedly passes away, she finds herself at the mercy of a jealous and cruel new family.
Soon, she is forced to become their servant, disrespected, covered in ashes and spitefully renamed Cinderella. Yet, despite the cruelty inflicted upon her, Ella will not give in to despair nor despise those who mistreat her, and she continues to remain positive, determined to honour her mother’s dying words and to “have courage and be kind.”
When Ella meets a dashing stranger in the woods, unaware that he is really the Prince (Richard Madden) and not merely Kit, an apprentice at the palace, she believes she has finally found a kindred soul. It appears her fortunes may be about to change when the King (Derek Jacobi) summons all maidens in the kingdom to attend a royal ball at the palace, raising Ella’s hopes of once again encountering the charming Kit. Alas, her Stepmother forbids her to attend and callously destroys her dress.
Meanwhile, the calculating Grand Duke (Stellan Skarsgård) devises a plan to thwart the Prince’s hopes of reuniting with Ella and enlists the support of the devious Stepmother. But, as in all good fairy tales, help is at hand. Soon, a kindly beggar woman (Helena Bonham Carter) steps forward and, armed with a pumpkin, a few mice and a magic wand, changes Cinderella’s life forever.”

My #cindrellamoment would have to be when I had my first kiss.
I was 12 it was a Friday the day before Valintines day. My school was having
had a valintines day themed dance after the dance I got pulled aside
by a boy I really liked his name was Nikko.
I don’t remember what we were talking about at the time all
I remember is him stopping me in mid sentence with a kiss.
and him asking me to be his girlfriend.
It was the best day before Valintines day I’ve ever had (:

Now that is an awesome #CinderellaMoment Juvelyn 🙂 Good luck!

My last Cinderella moment was at my company’s Christmas party last year. I wore a red strapless long gown which I did not wear for years, but was still in perfect shape. And I did a fancy hair up-do with great make-up.
I did feel like a PRINCESS going to the ball with my price charming (my hubby)!!!
MapleMouseMama says
And I bet you were (and are) a beautiful princess Jennifer! Good luck!

My #CinderellaMoment was a few years ago. After my work Christmas party, I got into a cab to go home and I found a lost Blackberry in the cab. I decided to be a Good Samaritan and take it home with me so I could return it to its rightful owner. I contacted some of the owner’s friends via BBM that night, heard back from him the next morning, and arranged to meet with him later that day at the mall, as I had some errands to run. We met that afternoon and as I returned the phone to him, it was clear that there was an undeniable spark between us that couldn’t be resisted. From there, we walked and talked while I shopped for groceries, and he was sure to keep me smiling and laughing the entire time. After I checked out at the cashier, he carried my bags to my car like a true gentleman, and asked me out for coffee. Three days later, we had our first official date, and it has now been three years. He makes me feel like a princess every single day!

My #cinderellamomen… I don’t talk about this much, but I always related to Cinderella. Like her I lost both my parents, and all through childhood I felt like I didn’t fit in, I also felt alone at home (raised by my old fashion grandparents) sometimes I saw my friends with their parents, and talk about their experiences with their mom and dad, and I felt left out.
I grew up, and when I graduated high school I left home and travelled the world for a few year. I came back and now I’m almost done university. I married a man, and with him In feel like I have a best friend that I never had before.
I didn’t have a ball to attend, but my ball was life that was waiting for me….I feel like my hard beginnings made me who I am and now I’m living life to the fullest. That’s what Cinderella is about anyways.

I hope spelling isn’t a factor here..I’m typing on my phone
MapleMouseMama says
LOL, no worries Kayla 🙂
MapleMouseMama says
What a wonderful ending to your story Kayla, or maybe I should say the start of the next exciting chapter! Good luck!

Mine is the birth of my 3 princesses.

My #cinderellamoment is being the bridesmaid at a wedding held at Casa Loma. Being in a castle decked out in tons of tulle is the closest thing to being a princess.
MapleMouseMama says
That would be so amazing Mary!
