I have always enjoyed shopping for gifts for friends and family, especially during the Christmas season. Yes, the malls are always busy, but the atmosphere is almost always festive. There are all the beautiful decorations to check out, the non-stop carols being sung and the excited kiddos waiting in line to see Santa. I guess it is just part of the whole holiday season to enjoy some of this hustle and bustle. However, the older I get the less I seem to enjoy the trek to the mall. That’s why I love that practically all of my holiday shopping can be done online!
I never used to like online shopping, but my hubby sure had a love affair with it. He would, and still does, do other people’s shopping just so he could hunt up a good deal online and then go in for the kill and order it up! His adrenaline was fueled by the never ending array of packages arriving at the door! I have to admit that somehow I was bitten by the online shopping bug too. 
This year I decided to branch out from ordering from Chapters, so I checked out Overstock.com. I know you have heard of them, but have you shopped with them yet?
Also known as O.co, Overstock.com has a huge selection of gifts and everyday items from women’s clothing and accessories to health and beauty, furniture, electronics and so much more! You will find all the promotions and discounts that fit your Canuck sized budget. O.co has also launched it’s new lower shipping rates and a feature that I really love (and appreciate) is that now taxes and duties are collected beforehand for easy checkout. How fantastic is that?!
In order to check out these wonderful new offerings for their Canadian counterparts, O.co sent us a couple of items that are perfect for gift giving. Shipping was a great experience with both items being packaged very well. Not having to deal with paying a duty fee when the parcels were delivered to my door was a huge bonus. That is way better than circling the mall parking lot for 45 minutes trying to find a spot. Here is just a sample of what you can purchase from O.co now or any time during the year.
White Goose Feather and Down Pillows (set of two):
These two jumbo sized pillows are perfect for snuggling in for a long winter’s nap (we all know how long that can be here in Canada. ) These medium-firm pillows are super soft and I found them to be nice and cool, which is essential for a good night’s rest. I am a side sleeper and these pillows had great support for my neck. There was no need to bunch up the pillow and mess around with it. It cradled my head perfectly. The quilted cotton covers have gusseted edges for durability so these babies will last a good long while. The approximate price is $50.00 CAD for both pillows. Excellent value for something that will get lots of use.
Roman Beauty Dual Curler/Straightener:
My daughter, who has a head full of curls, has been asking to get a straightener for awhile so I was really excited to see the huge selection of flat irons on Overstock.com! The Roman Beauty works double time as a curler and a straightener so maybe I will give it a whirl to! It has this neat 360º Rotating Barrel that goes in two directions and with the auto shut off you need not worry that you left it turned on. A really neat feature of O.co is the help section. On every product page, after the descriptions and other details about your item, you will find a section called “Shopping Tips and Inspiration.” Here is a list of questions pertaining to the item you are looking at. For example on the page for the Goose Feather and Down Pillows the O.co site offers instructions on how to fluff a pillow and tells you the best pillow for every kind of sleep. On the straightener page the tips range from how to pick the right flat iron for your hair to how to actually use it. This is a fabulous feature, especially when shopping for someone else.
