Last December I was excited to get an email asking me to apply to be a host of a Disney Side @Home Celebration, but I seriously did not think my application would be accepted. Such is the fate of a Canadian blogger when the “op” (opportunity) comes from a company States side. At least in many of my experiences, LOL. So imagine my surprise when I got the email just a couple of weeks ago telling me I was one of the chosen few ( well, one of the 600 chosen few, but still..) out of the thousands that had applied. I was pretty stoked! The email went on to say that our delightful benefactors, Mom Talk Radio, BSMMedia and Disney Parks, would be sending out our hostess kits soon! Anything free that is Disney related is pretty sweet in my book. 🙂
So fast forward (you thought I was gonna say fast pass, didn’t you?) to last week when my kit arrived. This 24 pound box landed at my doorstep, but I had to wait for the kiddos to come home. Emily would never forgive me if I didn’t let her in on the reveal. So once the kids were settled we tore into it! I attempted to video tape it, but there was a bit of squabbling going on so I scrapped that for family viewing only. Ya, we are not ready for YouTube just yet. However, the photos will tell the tale, at least a little bit.
The item that surprised me the most is the beautiful piece of American Tourister luggage! Mine is a lovely shade of purple (called to mind a certain sea witch..) and perfect to use as a carry on bag or for a weekend away. The luggage was filled with goodies to help us really show off our Disney Side during our @Home Celebration. I did not photograph each item, but you can see them all in the photo. We received Mickey Mouse Clubhouse party decorations, tablecloth, plates, napkins and cups. There are some cute Mickey shaped cookie cutters and some measuring cups from “The Chew”! Add in some balloons, a Disney Parks themed Bingo game, some trivia cards and even a guide to face painting our favorite Disney characters! There was also stickers and tattoos, recipe cards, Muppets calendars and some runDisney chEAR cards, which are pretty neat. HP included packs of photo card paper as well.
I think my most favorite item that we received is the “So this is love” poster. This is perfect for Valentine’s and for sharing your love for Disney. This sweet message from the movie “Cinderella” is simply displayed in this beautiful print! I can’t wait to frame mine!
So, you are probably wondering; why all this stuff? The simple premise behind this @Home Celebration is for Disney fans across the world to show off their Disney Side. This is the theme that Disney introduced last year, which I wrote about. Have a look see. These parties will be taking place very soon and going on for about a month. You will see lots of people sharing their Disney Side via blogs, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest etc.. You can follow along the #DisneySide and even check out some tips for planning your own Disney Side party at this official site. Our Disney Side party is not for a bit yet. We are working on some top secret ideas right now, but I will share them all soon.
How do you like to show your Disney Side?

Ooooo…I love Disney! I will admit though, I don’t have much Disney “stuff”. Maybe I need to go to Disney and then I’ll collect a bunch 🙂

Fantastic, Suz! As for me, you know I wear my #DisneySide on my sleeve (so to speak). My favourite new thing is the Interstate 4 Florida sign with Mickey Ears on it that I hang on my office wall for all to see. Everyone knows I’m Disney-bound! 😀
MapleMouseMama says
Oh my that sounds really neat Cass! You gotta post a picture!
