Oh the weather outside may not have been frightful lately, but come on folks, this is Canada! We will get snow, it is just a matter of time. So the best thing to do right now is to get prepared. Too many people leave things to the last minute and then they panic. I know because I am guilty of this too. Take the kids winter gear for instance. As I type this I do not know for sure if my son’s boots from last year still fit. #BadMommy, ya, I know, but I tell you what I do have – his mitts. And I only need one pair. You know why? Because last year I was smart enough to get a pair of Smart Mitts for William and the rest is history!
Smart Mitts, as you may recall from these two posts, here and here, are a wonderfully warm and waterproof pair of mittens that wrap around your child’s back so they stay on and do not end up in the lost and found. These mittens are made with soft Thinsulate and fleece lining so little fingers stay warm and dry. Each mitten has a long cuff so that the snow and cold are kept where they should be, outside! The best feature of Smart Mitts is the band that attaches each mitt together. Made of a soft and stretchy material, it goes around your child’s back and under their coat. The mittens stay in place and there is no fear of a child being hurt because the band is around their back, not their neck.
