So the title of this post may seem a bit strange, but I know some who will get a chuckle out of it. You see I am not known for my culinary skills, nor do I really like to cook or bake so when I do it is viewed, by some, to be a miracle of sorts. Whatever.. I liked this recipe when I saw it because it was a) a dessert and b) easy enough for me to do and c) food allergy friendly so William could have it.
This particular treat has been making the rounds on Social Media sites lately so I can not claim the recipe as my own, but I did tweak it a bit. That recipe is known as:The Creamsicle Cool Whip Dessert. But seriously, you can call it whatever you want.
As I said this dessert was really easy to do and has minimal ingredients. Those of you with a sweet tooth might just want to give it a try. Here is what you are going to need:
- 1 large tub of Cool Whip ( the one liter container)
- 1 packet of orange Jello powder ( I actually used about half and that was plenty)
- 3 to 4 heaping table spoons of plain or vanilla yogurt ( I used peach as that was all I had on hand)
- 1/2 cup of fruit, cut small ( I actually used drained fruit cup fruit cause I had it on hand)
This is where it becomes unbelievably easy to make. My kind of cooking type thing. You will need a hand mixer, but a blender may work as well. Dump about half the Cool Whip in a large bowl and sprinkle a generous amount of the Jello powder on top. Mix it all together. You can judge for yourself as the texture thickens, but you will want to add in the yogurt, one tablespoon at a time. Combine the rest of the Cool Whip and the Jello powder in while mixing it up. Next dump in your fruit! As there was some of the juice still clinging to the fruit I did not need to add extra yogurt, but that is an option if more liquid is needed. Stir in the fruit by hand and your done!! You can garnish the top of this treat with more cut up fruit, then leave it in the fridge for several hours or more.
When I served this to the family I had a unanimous vote of approval and a request for seconds! That almost never happens to me so I was pretty pumped. I will certainly make this one again. I think the next time I will use a strawberry Jello to change up the flavour a bit.
If you have made this before or plan to make it, let me know how it turns out? Thanks for stopping by!

Reads delicious, Suzanne….but I do have a question. You said ‘you will need a blender’. Did you mean hand mixer or mix master? I ask because that is what it looks like in the bowl….like it was mixed with a hand mixer. Nice to know that William can eat it also.
Thanks for pointing this out Gemma. I did actually use a hand mixer, not sure why I put blender, but I think you could probably use either, as long as you kept the speed slow on the blender. However, I say this with a disclaimer because as you know I am not a baker
Maybe we can make it next time we are at the beach!

My kids would love this!! Thanks for sharing!
You are most welcome!
I love anything sweet and desserts! I might try this one, the only thing is that I am lactose intolerant so I can’t have yogurt, perhaps a non-dairy yogurt might do! That looks really yummy!
I am sure a non yogurt would work fine Pinx. It is more for thickening.. Enjoy!
Anything with Cool Whip is a winner, in my books. Looks really good – I’m looking forward to giving this a try.
The best part is how easy it is.. Enjoy!
I love the taste of creamsicle – brings back lots of memories! This looks like an easy one to try.
It is very tasty
How yummy does that look? WOW. I know my kids would love it.
And it is easy enough that they can help you Nancy
Yes this dessert is definitely easy to make. I am not a fan of the orange creamsicle so I’ll just use strawberry jello, other than that it sounds delicious. Thank you for sharing this recipe.
You are welcome Megan and I think it would be great with just about any flavour. Bon appetite!
