I have just finished perusing thirty-six blogs, all with a Disney bent to them, and commented on most of them. There was one or two that would not “take” my comments, but I did try a couple of times. My reason for this marathon blog hop of sorts? Focused on the Magic’s The Disney Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop. I have been participating on and off in Wordless Wednesday’s or Disney Meme’s for awhile now and I have always enjoyed them. What’s not to like? You get to showcase your own photos and hope to have someone comment on them. Let’s face it, we all have those friends and family members who inwardly groan when we bring out our massive Disney photo albums, right? Blog hops like this allow us to share our common love without fear of that “ugh, not again” look. ( I never let those looks bother me though, I just keep on yakking about Disney )
Anyway, as I was working my way through this week’s list of contributors ( 37 as of ten minutes ago and yes, that includes me ) my husband asked me why I was checking each one out. It is a lot of work after all. I think it took me almost an hour and a half this time. Other weeks it has taken less, but the number of contributors is growing, which is wonderful! My reasons are simple. I love Disney and find I can capture the magic that is lost when I am not there through the photos and memories of not only my own pictures, but so many others as well. I can also find the true spirit of Disney in the camaraderie that grows with each new addition to the list of Disney blogs. As silly as this may sound to others, I find this feeling to be uplifting and bittersweet all at the same time. These lovingly snapped memories that are so willingly shared speak of happy family vacations, reunions of old friends and the rekindling of romances. How priceless is that? Kind of reminds me of the wonderful Disney commercials that reduce me to tears, happy tears of course. That is the spirit of Disney.
