August 20, 2014 By: MapleMouseMama14 Comments

Check out what Disney has in store for us this fall.  Which movie do you want to see? I think for me I will pick…all of them!!

Walt Disney StudiosALEXANDER AND THE TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE, NO GOOD, VERY BAD DAY

DISNEY

Release Date: October 10, 2014

Cast:                            Steve Carell, Jennifer Garner, Dylan Minnette, Ed Oxenbould, Kerris Dorsey, Megan Mullally, Jennifer Coolidge, Bella THorne

Director:                       Miguel Arteta

Disney’s “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” follows the exploits of 11-year-old Alexander (Ed Oxenbould) as he experiences the most terrible and horrible day of his young life—a day that begins with gum stuck in his hair, followed by one calamity after another. But when Alexander tells his upbeat family about the misadventures of his disastrous day, he finds little sympathy and begins to wonder if bad things only happen to him. He soon learns that he’s not alone when his mom (Jennifer Garner), dad (Steve Carell), brother (Dylan Minnette) and sister (Kerris Dorsey) all find themselves living through their own terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. Anyone who says there is no such thing as a bad day just hasn’t had one.

Walt Disney StudiosBIG HERO 6 (In 3D)

DISNEY

Release date: November 7, 2014

Voice Cast:                  Maya Rudolph, James Cromwell, Damon Wayans Jr., T.J. Miller, Alan Tudyk, Jamie Chung, Genesis Rodriguez, Daniel Henney, with Ryan Potter as Hiro Hamada and Scott Adsit as Baymax.

Director:                       Don Hall, Chris Williams

With all the heart and humour audiences expect from Walt Disney Animation Studios, “Big Hero 6” is an action-packed comedy-adventure about robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada (voice of Ryan Potter), who learns to harness his genius—thanks to his brilliant brother Tadashi (voice of Daniel Henney) and their like-minded friends: adrenaline junkie Go Go Tomago (voice of Jamie Chung), neatnik Wasabi (voice of Damon Wayans Jr.), chemistry whiz Honey Lemon (voice of Genesis Rodriguez) and fanboy Fred (voice of T.J. Miller). When a devastating turn of events catapults them into the midst of a dangerous plot unfolding in the streets of San Fransokyo, Hiro turns to his closest companion—a robot named Baymax (voice of Scott Adsit)—and transforms the group into a band of high-tech heroes determined to solve the mystery.

Walt Disney StudiosINTO THE WOODS

DISNEY

Release Date: December 25, 2014

Cast:                            Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, James Corden, Anna Kendrick, Chris Pine, Tracey Ullman, Christine Baranski and Johnny Depp, Lilla Crawford, Daniel Huttlestone, MacKenzie Mauzy, Billy Magnussen, Tammy Blanchard, Lucy Punch, Frances de la Tour, Simon Russell Beale, Richard Glover, Joanna Riding, Annette Crosbie.

Director:                       Rob Marshall

“Into the Woods” is a modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales, intertwining the plots of a few choice stories and exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. This humourous and heartfelt musical follows the classic tales of Cinderella (Anna Kendrick), Little Red Riding Hood (Lilla Crawford), Jack and the Beanstalk (Daniel Huttlestone), and Rapunzel (MacKenzie Mauzy)—all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife (James Corden & Emily Blunt), their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the witch (Meryl Streep) who has put a curse on them.

So, did you decide which movie you would take your family to see? Enjoy the popcorn!

It’s Into the Woods for me. Johnny Depp and Brothers Grimm fairy tales together has got to be good.

Into The Woods has been one of our family’s favorite musicals for years! One of the highlights for Katie in the past few years was getting the role of the Witch in our local Theatre Production. We will definitely be lining up to see that movie!!

My grandchildren all love Disney movies, not sure if they’ve seen any of these as they are still quite young.
