We are fortunate to have a rather large backyard. When we first bought our home we even paid a small premium for the larger lot and I had visions of a rock garden and water fountain on our little hill, with some big trees for the kids to play under and of course, lots and lots of gorgeous plants and flowers blooming everywhere. But, it wasn’t meant to be. 🙁 Don’t get me wrong, we do use our backyard. There is a swingset for the kids and a nice deck, but our grass is nasty, there are zero flowers and that rock garden and water fountain? Still living in dreamland.
Rather than accept defeat (although it has been a few years), I have decided to try and spice our yard up a bit this year. What better way to get creative than to see what other creative people have come up with, right? I am really digging the idea of an Anti Mosquito Planter to keep those nasty flyers away this year and Fairy Gardens are all the rage. I found inspiration from the following sites. I love the idea of an anti-mosquito planter, I could certainly use that here as we have a small lake just beyond our back garden fence, of course my patio’s on that side too, so this would be ideal for me.
