As a parent I have been exposed to many different children’s entertainers over the past ten years and even before then as an aunt. They come in different shapes, sizes, colours ( think Barney ) and caliber. While I am not an expert, I think listening to this varied genre, over and over again, and over and over again, gives me a bit of street cred. Having said that one performer I would gladly leave in my multi disk player is Will Stroet.
“Will Stroet, an award-winning bilingual children’s musician and educator, connects with kids through high-energy, interactive and educational music in English and French. Will is also the star of Will’s Jams, fun and educational videos for kids featuring his popular hits, airing on Kids’ CBC television weekday mornings. Catchy and kinetic, Will and his Backyard Band perform a high-energy family show with fun actions and sing-along choruses.”
Will Stroet and his Backyard Band are releasing their new English and French CD “Just Imagine/Imagine” this fall and to celebrate they will be touring parts of Canada. Come and join them on Sunday, October 27th at 11am at the Assembly Hall in Toronto for a great show! You can order tickets to Will’s Toronto show HERE. Be sure to visit Will’s site HERE to learn more about him and the Backyard Band.
***Stay tuned*** Very soon MapleMouseMama will be hosting a giveaway for two of Will Stroet’s new CD, “Just Imagine/Imagine” so make sure to check back often!
So tell me, do your children watch Barney? I have to admit to singing a bar or two of “I love you. You love me…” once or twice. 🙂

Isn’t it amazing that we have so many home grown artists that we get to enjoy.

I’m afraid that I’m a very, very non musical person, I just have no ear at all for music. My kids used to fall asleep out of protest if I tried singing to them so I suppose it has had it’s advantages in the past, 🙂
